Text Messages - Enough is Enough
At first it was good to get texts from MMORPG as they seemed to be important like Beta announcements and such. However, every day I get at least 8 texts about total junk I'm not concerned about. This morning alone I got 10 messages about total crap. I honestly don't want a text every single time you update a news article. Unless it is important I DON'T CARE. I come to the site to read up on what I want daily, I honestly don't need text messages sent to me for regular news. Text me when there is something important like a BETA handout as I want to know about those. It's getting to where I don't even check your text messages anymore as 9 times out of 10 it's junk I could care less about.

I would if I could but I can't find anywhere in my settings to change the feature. I don't want to turn it off I just would like them to be a bit more selective on what they Text. They use to not text anything but important stuff but over the last month or so it's been getting worse and worse. 10 text messages this morning all before 7am is a bit over the top.
Make that 11 texts now.
There is a profile setting under alerts where you can disable the mailing of promotional offers.
The problem is I want to receive SPECIAL promotions. What I don't want to receive is a Text every time a news update is posted. By the EOD the day I posted my first OP I had received over 15 seperate text messages from MMORPG about JUNK.
There is nowhere to turn off news updates that I can see and maintain the special promotion/beta text messages. That is just poor design. On top of that they are using up my available text messaging my carrier provides. Hell there is not even a place that I can find to stop the texting.
Seeing that they took the time to move this topic to this forum they could at least have taken the time to answer my questions.
1. How can I get text messages for ONLY the Beta/Special Promotion stuff?
2. How can I turn off Text Messaging?
3. Why did you change the way your messaging worked?
whoever had that bright idea really needs to rethink it. If you send out 50 text messages a day nobody will take the time to read them if they are junk 99% of the time. Have you ever heard the story of the boy who cried WOLF. You might want to go read it and then change the texting back to the way it was a few months ago. I liked getting notified of special stuff and beta's but I don't like getting news update texts. As I said in my OP, I go to the site already to read the news. I'm not going to go any faster to read news just because I got a text. Leave the texting for special promotions and beta invites.
I have received 15 messages sense the 20th. 10 just this morning alone. I have turned off all notifications from MMORPG until you guys tell me how to turn off texting of NEWS updates and other junk I don't want.
I have turned off all alerts and still getting texts. This has got to stop. Please inform me on how to cancel this feature or else I will be sending you guys my bill for the texts that I go over.
Still getting texts. Everyting turned off under Alerts. No response to my e-mail to support even though they say I will get one in 24 hours. Seriously, McFly! Anyone Home! Hello McFly!

Problem found. Some kind of way I was following MMORPG via twitter with text messaging. Not sure how but meh - Issue resolved.
