EA is so full of excrement.

My daughter wanted me to log into my old WAR account after a few months time off. I was greeted by a shitstorm of EA bullshit "EA master account!!! weee!!!" and to cut a long story short, the morons in EA just lost my (two) subs. Kafka meets the electronic entertainment industry. Corporate Amerikkka manages the fun & jivin pc game world? I'll never EVER buy anything from those idiots again. WTF is wrong with those guys? So you are mad at EA because you can't figure out how to create a master account and link it to your warhammer account?

Instead of following basic instructions you instead wish violence upon them?  Interesting...

Yeah. Exactly. If someone came to me and said "Buddy, I want to give you 30$/month, no questions asked" I'd say "Right on! Come on in sir!" rather tham swamp em with a pile of paperwork like I'm trying to apply for a a visa in some 2-bit 3rd-world  shithole country. It's just crap business sense. Sod them. Pricks.

And wtf I need a fooking EA account to play goddamn WAR? It's just a pathetic miserable beaureo attempt at creating customer loyalty. Screw them. It's as uncool as it can get.

    What is this...I dont even?

    No, seriously, what?

Did you just admit you were unable to follow basic instructions? Linking your account is really easy and takes maybe 3 minutes.

    not to defend EA but....

u just link 1 email to your account, and can the link the rest to that same email and Voila, u now have an EA master account,

which can be used for ALL EA matters, that means u dont have to go through your 6 different accounts,  its rather easy :)

This seems to be more and more common these days.  There always seems to be some stupid master account somewhere that you need to set up before you can play your games.  Not just with online games but even offline SP games.  I loathe this trend but I don't pin the blame for it on EA this time.  However, they are guilty of much more heinous crimes against games than this so 'sod them', anyways.  They are pricks.

  • PilnkplonkPilnkplonk Member Posts: 1,532

It might be easy, but they just lost 30$ a month. And I've got friends similar problems. I'm a customer. I have a right to play dumb. I don't want a "master EA account" to enjoy all the goodness EA gives to the world. I just want my WAR accounts I had from way back beta. But they obviously don't want my money (must be swimming in it i guess) so i don't give a crap. Goodbye.

Yeah, EA sucks for so many different reasons. It'd pretty easy to avoid any games they're involved with. Just develop a finer taste in games like me.

Any reason for a good EA bashing is good enough i'd say.

I still miss Dungeon Keeper and Command & Conquer of which there was never made more than 3, and that's being generous.

EA will always be the meatgrinder where good game studios go in and come out as bland, sterilized mincemeat.

shit man, im not arguing about C&C or how they fishblended "their" games into nothing but american pie.

im just saying their EA master system is actually pretty nice since we all have (or most) game accounts in different places thats actually now ea games.  :)

What an unproductive post. Ranting on forums and typing completely unproductive threads isn't going to gain you any sympathy.

I'm no fan of EA business practices but if you're going to create useless threads at least calm down enough to proof read and realise your post doesn't say much more than you're upset and unfamiliar with the account management layout. In fact, had you said just that alone my time would feel slightly less wasted.

Yeah, I'm "unfamiliar with the account management". EA is smart. I'm dumb. Haha. I get to keep my 30$/month. EA looses the 30$/month. Who's dumb now?

I've run a business, man, and this is no way to run a business I tell you... My daughter loves to play WAR with her dad but she's accepted the fact we'll have to wait for the next game. I've been through this crap with EA/Mythic like 3 times in the past 2 years. I've had enough. They can print out their massive EULA in a large font with double margins and shove it where the sun don't shine. I've had enough.

When I resubbed recently, linking the account was the only thing that went smoothly. After that were the patch issues and it took 2 days for the actual reactivation of my account to occur, both of which I considered infinitely more frustrating (and a little dodgy, if I were the conspiratorial type...which I am).

Sorry it didn't go well for you.

    This.

I had a similar problem OP.  I was rather frustrated.. and this coming from someone who likes EA.  That being said,  the issue I had did get resolved... it seems you have a small process to go through with logging into the game, and the master account and all of that, which gets in the way when you're really just wanting to get into the damn game.

But, it is what it is... I've had similar issues with NCsoft.

The only thing I found confusing with the new interface is I never found a way to change individual warhammer account password. The change password option always defaults to the EA master account password even when its set to a specific warhammer account.

Hmm, point me to a better war game experience than the Battlefield franchise (that runs well) then maybe I'll develop a finer taste in games.. Also while you're at it point me to a "better" alternative next year for Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning.

Well this ol' hippy ain't buyin it and is taking his business elsewhere. Deal.

WTF is this? If you've got beef with EA's famously craptastic corpo-unservice schitck then you're suddenly a bum? Get real man. It's not me who's loosin' money. Jeez.

sounds like a piss poor reason to rag on EA. yes EA is a mcdonalds game company rehashing crap and producing alot of crap..

but to QQ over having to make a master account seems kind of far fetched.. kind of like going to the doctor about a sore arm.. being told its sprained and you have to wait and hr to get  a cast or something (do to other people's needs) and bitching about it....

going by your post.. you will never touch EA again but what happens if a game that is EA supported comes out that you really have to play ??? you going to cry because you cant play it do to hating EA?? o-o

frankly there are way better reasons to complain about EA.. then making a master account.

id sooner complain about their crappier game production or the fact they can never make a quality CnC then worry about accounts (account creation is the fastest thing in most games...)

I just made this EA master account thingy. I had that undone for some time already and was curious after reading on this thread. It was a little weird to do but i managed to. What I find more confusing is I have no idea why I needed to do that. I linked my warhammer account with my master account, for what? can i link my dragon age account too? how?. It's a weird process and they dont explain you why you need to do that. Anyway, I dont understand why the OP got soooo angry, maybe he had a bad day.

Yes you can link any EA account. I forgot that I had already set up my EA master account so it took a few minutes to 'sort out' emails and passwords and when I logged into the EA Master, I saw my Dragon Age account. It didn't take more than 5 minutes to get my WAR account functional again after I went back to the WAR account management.

It is now (slowly) downloading the game client. I suppose my only 'grumble' was that while I am entitled to a free 'welcome back to WAR' 14 day access, they still wanted my credit card. *shrug*
