I'm just curious to hear what playable race people would like to see in an MMO, fantasy or otherwise, that they have yet to see thus far.
Personally, I'd like to see Centaurs as a playable race. They are a pretty iconic race from a lot of fantasy worlds, but I have yet to find a game that gives you to opportunity to play as one. Sure, it would be different, but I think it would be pretty cool, especially because you could be your own mount.

Pandas... Wait my dream came true!!! Woohoo!
More seriously: Lizardmen (like in Oblivion), or perhaps Nagas... Some sort of snake-type race.
Who cares. If player races were Godzilla and the Fly they'd still have the same hitpoints, stamina and mana.
Gloop and gleep off the herculoids!
Or Yoda race that were the predominiate members of the jedi council during the old republic.. oh no wait sorry lucas wont allow us to play yoda race.
: P
Jawa, yeah it would have to be a Star Wars game... If we're talking FFA PVP I'd play as an Ewok, or Gungan I'd name my Gungan Jar Jar, I'd love to hear the whines as I pwned faces.

Naga and Lizards (like guy above said), also Bears (not just pandas), Horses something unique not just typical fantasy or a humanoid version of an animal. For Lizards, bears and horses...not just a human body with a horse head...something just based on it.

LOL wanted ewok's so bad too bad endor hasnt been discovered yet.
Ewok Sith Lord would be so funny..
I've always wanted to play an EQ (1) style Giant. Really, really big compared to every other playable race.
I think it would be even better to play a Ninja Giant that can sneak.
Beholder... because it's a licensed D&D monster. If I could play it, it would mean there existed an MMO where you could play Dungeons & Dragons, and where players could DM.
Also, beholders are badass.
Screw beholders!!
Mindflayers for the win!!
Playing as a centaur in Shadowbane was fun. I just never got why they had a penelty to archery, when that's kind of their thing.
Give me a WoD Changling in an ideal world.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Kender. "hey that's a nice axe you got there."
Even better it would be if the little bastage could jump around like Yoda lol.

ooooh can't believe I forgot about...
DRAGONS!!!
There was a game at one point that allowed that I can't remember what it was called, I only dabbled. It seemed to have a deep crafting game involved in it.

Horizons... it is called Istaria nowadays.... and you can play big dragons... but it has very few players...
Horizons.
Not many left on this site who remember it.
Cause it stunk -- a memory worthy of disappearing. if ever there was one.
Thanks guys that definitely was it, that game had a load of interesting playable species.

Elves. Why has nobody ever tried putting them in a game?
yea.
I know I sound like a broken record but SWG had some great races too.
Wookies where as fun as you could imagine. they where really great and done well. Mon Cal where fish men with gells, and fishy skin. their eyeleds even opened to the side. really great.
they added sul's later. those where amazing, and looked crazy.
Definitely agree there SWG did have a ton of unique species options. Ithorian, Sullustan, Wookies, Rodian, etc.. Kinda wish Bioware would have added a few of those, regardless of the dialogue barrier. If anything Mon cal always spoke basic in the movies.

Marrionetes, or living machanical dolls or golems. Nagas would be interesting. though I would love to see a spirit or etheral/astral based race as well that has to possess things to actually be effective in most physical combat.
Pandas
In Bioware we trust!
HAHA!!!
you beat me too it.....
Something with 4+ legs for a change.
Dragons were a lot of fun in Istaria.
