What will the subscription price be?: Around 15 Euro/Dollars. The price will be similar to current prices in the market.
Will there be a system against buff-bots?: There is no anti buff-bot system, so to speak. This will be countered by the the way the buffs work. The percentage of enhancements depends on the character who gets the buff. A high level character can therefore not be fully buffed by a low level character.
What happens if you log out during a fight?: The character keeps on acting like he was before you logged out. So, if you log out during a fight, the character keeps on fighting, for about twenty seconds. If the character is winning the fight, he will keep his advantage. But if hes loosing the fight, you may find yourself dead when you come back.
How does the hunting and game system work?: The baron chooses which can of game lives within his barony, and this has a price. If he wants to make profit out of it, he gets some money back when people enter his territory to hunt. Game has a limited lifetime, and predators may make it even more limited. If no hunter enters the barony to hunt, the baron will lose money. Hunting brings hunters SXP.
Will there be dungeons for the commercial release?: Dungeons wont be available when DnL is released. They will be added with a patch.
Can we use our weapon with the left hand?: Only warriors are ambidextrous. Being left-handed isnt possible.
Can some pets act like cowards?: No. Only game runs away.
If a pet kills an outlaw after its master is dead, can he get a benefit from the outlaws death?: No, because the pet no longer belongs to the player. So, no benefit for its former master.[/QUOTE]

It seems the more I read the more features I find that won't be in the innitial release. I still hope DnL keeps most of its content when starting. Otherwise...

... they said dungeons wont be ingame like 2 years ago... so i dont see how you would think this
"It's the darkness that brings us power"
I second that stephen! no dungeons at launch is not news....it's just repeating for those who didn't hear it the last 10 times it was said
mm.. I only really started following this game the past few months. I did come across it a year or two ago though. Just didn't catch my interest then.
it's just repeating for those who didn't hear it the last 10 times it was said
Nevertheless, it still has weight on my opinion for seeing it the first time. I can still live without "dungeons", but it may be a bit strange to be top-side the whole time for a while.

Does the inventory system manage items as per the item weight, or according to the amount of space they take up in your back pack? : Inventory management will be dependant on the weight of each item.
Do lamps, fire camps, etc. need some kind of maintenance? : No. They light up when the sun goes down, and out when morning comes, its automatic.
Do buildings lose condition with time? : Buildings lose condition with time if nobody repairs them. They will turn into ruins, they disappear.
Does divorce make you lose the privileges of marriage? : Of course, when people divorce, they lose the advantages of marriage. But anyway, you only get these advantages once you spend enough time together.
Can DnL be played on Linux or Mac? : No, Windows only.
Does a bard have musical instruments? : Yes, and theyll be useful for him to make money.
How does stealth work? : It works according to your level in the Stealth skill. A character with a high score will be able to detect characters with a lower score. Stealth can also be cast on another player. Magicians will have an area spell to detect hidden characters in a given zone

Does a bard have musical instruments? : Yes, and theyll be useful for him to make money.
Can they play in taverns to earn their keep, the way Rand did in the Wheel of time?

Who gets stealth? Rangers?
Hunting brings hunters SXP.
Nice
Will there be dungeons for the commercial release?: Dungeons wont be available when DnL is released. They will be added with a patch.
Hopefully these get added. Initially there will be a huge world to explore, and they won't be missed, but they need em for the challange after a while. This was one of the failings of Horizons.
Can we use our weapon with the left hand?: Only warriors are ambidextrous. Being left-handed isnt possible.
No duel wield? Hopefully I can major in bow and remain a ranger, not have to become an archer.
I posted that as a test cos my previous post did not go through, lol.
I then edited it.

No, I understood perfectly well.
You have to be a warrior to get dual wield. So, no duel wield, except for warriors, which I won't play.
But I only play ranger types, hence my question, no dual wield.
That means I must use a two handed sword, or sword and shield. Don't like either, I like using 2 short swords, quick attacks, like Legolas.
So that means using a bow, right, but that's for archers.
So, my query. Do rangers get bow, and as a main weapon, not just as a pulling device.
Everquest allowed me to dual wield as a ranger, bow for pulling. Horizons, no duel wield, and no special attacks with swords, axes, etc. Bow was the main wep.

QUESTIONS TO VUUAR #3 by Bohemond
About the character models we can see on the screenshots: are they final models? : A few changes will be made for DnL release, mostly on male avatars.
What customization options do you get when creating your character? : The majority of customization options will focus on the face.
What tools will nobles have to manage their city? : A character with a nobility title will have a "leadership baton" that will allow him/her to manage his/her property thanks to a management interface, with many options available. He/she can also create a management group with several members, who can care forthe domain when he is away.
Can we create unique clothes? : Upon release, only a few basic templates will be available. However, there will soon be more original templates added which can be gained through quests or events .
Will vampires be available upon release, with their disease ability? : Yes, they will suck the blood of Ganareth upon release.
Are there racial abilities? : It is difficult to implement specific abilities for each race, as it may unbalance the game, destroying the gameplay. It is wiser to use class bonuses in specific skills.
Will there be horses, and can we use some armour on them? : Many mounts will be available upon release, and horses will be among them. They will rule the plains, but dodos will be better in mountains. For now, they cannot wear any protection.
Is it possible to use a weapon when riding? : Of course.
Is it possible to become an architect and to decorate and create houses for others? : This job wont be available upon release
Nemo sine vitio est
Um...ya anyone really, it falls under the explorer axis. Some are more suited to it than others.
Neat... didn't know this.

QUESTIONS TO VUUAR #4 by Bohemond
Will guilds be limited in members? : The only limit is the number of inhabitants in Ganareth!
What happens when our merchant NPC is killed? : If a merchant NPC dies with your items in his inventory, the items you gave him will automatically be returned to your inventory.
Is there an alert system when our fortress is under attack? : Yes, the fortress owner(s) will get a signal. Then, they can choose to call the players attached to this fortress, in order to defend it immediately. A dimensional portal will be available if you are far away from the fortress, so that you can teleport to the fighting ground. If the assigned defenders dont come, they will still be considered responsible for the fortress, which can bring negative consequences to them. Therefore, it is very important to carefully chose your soldiers, and to make sure they dont leave you alone when you need them!
What happens if you kill a character who worship the same god as you? : You will get a penalty in your divine faction.
What are the crafting jobs available? : The list will be published soon.
How can the political skills change? : Politics indirectly depends on economic skills. There is no skill to develop. All you need to have is the minimal level requested and hope and get a better role. For this, you need to raise your social experience.
Any information about the social axis? : With every new level, you get some points. These points can be spent in any job. Of course, you cannot be the best in every job, and you will have to choose between mastering one or two, or being average in all of them.
How can we gain SXP? : Lots of options are available to gain SXP and increase your social skills. For instance, bringing wood and Dark or Light crystals to the mana fountains will bring you some SXP. You can either gain SXP or sell them and get some Goths instead. Crafting will bring you SXP, such as crafting items, being part of the economy of Ganareth, hunting animals, discovering new places, trading your sword for a plough, or to extract raw material and to send it to cities (the list is not final).
Will bards and healers earn SXP when fighting? : No. As their fighting mates, they will earn FXP.
Will there be crowd control spells? : Yes, however they will be more efficient on NPCs/monsters, and less efficient on players.
Nemo sine vitio est
Will there be any reward for PvP fights? : The loser will also lose a few Goths and FXP. On the contrary, the winner will earn FXP and some of the Goths his enemy just lost.
Will there be potions in Dark and Light? How will we get them?; : Yes, potions will be available. Crafting will be the main way to make them. But they will be much more efficient if you use some items found on creatures (loot).
Will there be purely roleplay clothes? : Yes, but not upon release.
Will items have required abilities or stats in order to be used? : Some items, not all, will require a specific level in one characteristic. For instance, in order to use a heavy mace, you need to be strong enough to take it.
Can buildings be upgraded and reinforced? : Yes of course. Your avatar has to be experienced enough in order to have this option enabled.
Will there be a penalty for the allies of a baron when he loses his title or dies? : Basically, no. However, the new lord can have a completely different vision of domain management and, for instance, increase taxes! Note: there is no distinction between Dark and Light here. A Light character can decide to live in a barony ruled by a Dark character.
Will mana fountains be useful for characters who are not spell casters? : Everybody can benefit from a mana fountain. Fighter classes will need mana for their special attacks, and should also be interested in protecting these fountains.
When a flying creature dies in flight and falls on the ground, can it hurt the people it may fall upon? : No harm will be done in this case.
What do you need to create a guild? : At first, you needed at least thirty members to create a guild. But this will be lowered to ten in order to help smaller groups. You also need to choose a leader.
What is the effective range for an archer? : A beginner archer can hit a target about 250m from him. Of course, this range will increase with the skill, and with the type of bow. An archer shooting an arrow is considered like a spell caster. He can make direct or curved shoots

We got some awesome responces on this last questions from Vuuar. I'm really satisfied with them.
Can a character have multiple classes, like magician/warrior?: No, you cannot belong to several classes.
Will we be able to target a location of the body when fighting?: No, it will be determined at random. Damage will depend on a coefficient linked to the impact.
Will mages be able to work together in order to create more powerful spells? How can we make them lose concentration, except by using a direct attack?: Yes, they can unite to cast powerful spells. The only way to stop this is to attack them directly (or to distract them using a Nikhta).
Do pets die permanently, or can they be revived?: They can be revived thanks to someone who masters resurrection, a cleric for instance. Necromancers will be able to resurrect their own pets. And if you are lucky enough, you will be able to use resurrection scrolls.
Once you reach the higher level, will it be possible to transfer all FXP gained to pets?: No, you can only transfer up to half the FXP you earn.
Will money play an important role in Ganareth, as well as in our own materialistic world?: Ganareth will be no exception. As in any place where you can sell goods and where some people are very interested in seeing you buying them, money will play an important role, especially if your avatar has some kind of management function. In addition to a private chest, your avatar will have a public chest in order to finance welfare projects, such as siege weapons, fortresses and many other things. You wont be able to transfer money from the public chest to the private one, so if you thought you could run away with the treasure, you might as well forget it. Likewise, your character will need money to buy his/her equipment, get a house and trade. However, you can live as a beggar in Ganareth; but sooner or later, you will need some goods and equipment to survive or to travel through hostile regions (ice, swamps, deserts...).
Can we play creatures?: This wont be possible upon release.
Players are considered immortal, why is that? What about NPCs?: Every character is dedicated to a god. Gods are very playful entities, and regard you as pawns on a multidimensional chessboard. Like in any other board game, if a pawn is temporarily defeated, it doesnt mean it has to be destroyed. About NPCs: some will be considered persistent, farmers and woodcutters for instance.
What will the specificities of each kingdom be?: Kingdoms will have geographical specificities, colourful locations, special vegetation and architecture. Depending on the kingdom, you can find specific raw materials and original ingredients. However, there wont be any typical clothing or weaponry.
Will there be specific weapons and armours for each class?: First, the difference will be made according to the archetype of the profession:
Spellcasters will wear fabric
Rogues will wear leather armor, and fabric
Fighter classes will be able to use any kind of armour, plate and mail included. Then, every class will be able to get a complete epic armour.
When a fountain switches sides, what happens to the characters who depend on it?: Every player can choose another mana fountain. When a character dies, if he/she has no appropriate mana fountain, he/she will be teleported to the village he/she was born in.

"One day all will die, surely you but never I." Wheel of Time
Hey cool, they answered my question I posted on the DnL boards about multiclassing
Lots of great info but this is starting to look like SWG Composite game. I.E. everyone will look alike, either through a lack of clothing options or what seems to be very specific suits of armor.
I.E. we will all eventually get epic armor, does that mean every player in the same class as you will look the same at the end game? Apparently. Unless there are many sets of epic armor -- which I doubt, or if its not totally be all, end all equipment. THough of course, by the semantics, it sounds as much
This is a huge lush world, with many many features, it should be conducive to roleplay as it so much seems to try and encourage in its design. I really hope they address these issues. I really cannot play an MMO where I look like the guy next to me.
Nemo sine vitio est
That sounds like a very good system to me.
Player crafted armour should always be better than armour from quests or drops. Thinking about it, the EQ2/WoW mmorpg model of questing in order to get better items is just so broken. So mind-numbingly dull.
If Dark and Light delivers what it promises, it will be huge.

When a trader NPC working for our character dies, what happens to the items in its inventory, if my character has a full inventory or isnt online?
When a character is created, it comes with a house. You can leave this house afterwards, in order to live in a new, bigger one, in a better place. And when a trader working for you dies, and if your character cannot get its items, these items will be sent to your home. You have no risks of losing your items when one of your traders dies.
If you want to level all by yourself, can you make it up to level 100?
Of course, but the leveling difficulty will match your current level.
Will bonuses brought by constellations be useful for any class type?
Every constellation will give interesting bonuses for every class. These bonuses will be minor advantages, and will have a limited influence on your character. There will be no downside in being influenced by one constellation instead of another.
Can one constellation bring bad luck on you, or give only disadvantages?
No constellation will do such things.
Is your constellation defined by birth date?
Constellations follow a regular cycle. However, you will know about your personal constellation long after you are born.
How does the ability to create warp gates work for an explorer?
An explorer has to create these gates, represented by some items, when he travels. The number of gates you can create is limited by your skill level. Gates work only as pairs.
Does minstrel music give bonuses like bard music does?
No, minstrel is a social job, whereas bard is a fighting class.
Which zones are considered neutral?
Neutral zones, in which there is no distinction between Dark and Light, are the Al Drifa district, as well as the surrounding villages. Public mines will also be neutral places, because they depend on Al Drifa. Dark and Light beginner zones will not be considered neutral, but will not allow player fights.

How will the exploration map work?
You will have a general map of Ganareth at your disposal, with a grid and zoom system that will allow you to see the terrain you have discovered.
When can we choose our divine faction?
You have to choose your divine faction before reaching level 20. You can make your choice at anytime before you reach that level.
Moreover, Humans can be atheists, but this radical stance can make life harder for your character.
When you kill an enemy who worships the same god as you, do you get a penalty in your divine faction? How does this penalty apply?
First of all, this penalty doesnt apply in declared fights, during a war or when taking a fortress for instance, but only during duels or fights involving a small number of players. In the latter cases, you will lose points in your divine faction, your god will be less merciful, which will basically decrease your luck.
What is the impact of stamina on travel by foot?
Stamina, as well as load, influence the distance you can travel before you get tired. The higher the stamina, the longer the distance you can walk.
Can gates be destroyed?
Yes, as any other building can be destroyed. Moreover, you cannot hide a gate or make it invisible.
Destroying a gate can also be done willingly, if you wish to relocate the second gate for instance.
Can other people use the warp gates an explorer has set?
Yes, and this will be necessary if an explorer wants to keep his/her gate. A gate costs a lot of money to keep it up, and an explorer can set a fee for its use.
Where can we find Dark or Light crystals?
In public mines, affiliated to Al Drifa and therefore considered neutral, or in private mines, created by players. Both crystals will be available in these mines, and the method used to extract them will increase the chances to get crystals of one type or the other. In addition to this, you can also find crystals in treasure chests or in the wilderness.
