We really need separate forums for every newly launched game. There can be the anti-<MMO> one and there can be the 'what general discussion should be' one. All the lamenting can happen together where each can find solace in like minded can't-move-on-ers leaving the rest of us to actually move forward and discuss meaningful and relevant topics.
What the hell.. you are not going to go through ALL the stories dude... because with every character you'll need to go through all the side quests that you went through with all the other characters of the same faction...
No story in the gaming world is worth grinding through all those "kill x mobs" quests...
I used to think this was true, back in beta. Now that I'm 32, I've purposely skipped heroics and bonus questlines to see if I can get away with it, knowing that I can do them on an alternate character. I haven't PVP'ed and stopped running FPs since level 25, just to see if I can keep up with levels and my class story. I do mostly the world story arcs, because they are just epic and so far I'm right on track. Which leaves me a TON of options for leveling on alts that I haven't seen yet.
Curious as to where you bought it, I haven't seen any yet in walmart or other stores. I haven't checked Gamestop yet since they seem to be so anti PC game these days.
Yes, definitely planning on resubscribing. This is the most entertaining MMORPG I have ever played, and I am overwhelmed with respect and appreciation for what Bioware accomplished here. I can't wait to see where they take the ongoing story and development of this game, and feel I can predict in advance that I will stay subscribed for many years because I have faith it will be a great direction. I've enjoyed everything about SWTOR so far, and really happy that I've found an MMORPG to stick with for awhile.
For those that haven't found that MMO home yet, I hope you can find it soon too!

I got mine from Fnaac in Paris. Not sure about States.
I will go 3 more months for now. I have some people that fit very well into the coop style of the game.

Gamestop definitely has them. There are several Gamestop stores in my area that sell them along with a ton of other digital items and I would say they are currently the best place to get time cards ot item shop cards. They are not anti PC. They just know most of the PC market buys online now. Every game retailer is cutting back on sales of PC retail boxes because it's a dying market. Nonetheless, I think every Gamestop out there has a section designated towards online play cards including the digital sales of PS3/XBox games or subscription time for console services (PS+/Xbox Live), MMO subscription time, and various types of 'game cards' for all the F2P cash shops out there.

Ok, I was generalizing about them being anti PC, but I guarantee they aren't hiring people who are knowledgable about PC games. Console games, yes. It's all you hear them talk about. Ask them a question about PC games and I get blank stares.

Can't argue that, but then who goes to a gamestop to buy PC games since they stopped carrying most PC game releases? Doesn't make a lot of sense for them to know lots about what they don't carry in store. I know you were generalizing, but I am telling you it is THE best place I have found anywhere on the market for game time cards, MMO subscription cards, and cash shop cards.
from all I have experienced so far, I know for a fact that I will stay subbed for at least the next 12 months, after that, it depends on wether they can keep the original momentum rolling- I am very optimistic that they can
I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete.
Tried it for 4 days and im done with it, played pretty much every mmo release for the last couple years and this is no different. I honestly would rather play WoW then this... nothing new
Yes. Best MMORPG launch in a long time. Plus it's bioware and I know they will continue to add content. And the story is intiresting enough to keep me satisfied.
I will be, having a great time atm with my Knight on the republic side.
Remember, you dont have to stay subscribed to support the game, staying active in the SWTOR community supports it just as much. I like to play one month, and take one off and check out other stuff, then return next month off and on like that sometimes in mmos, nothing wrong with doing it like this. Theres so many great games to play.

Yes! I signed up for a 3 month sub.

ganna try and go for the 6 month payment

Best MMO in awhile. Having alot of fun. I've been recommending it to everyone I can.
"Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it."
For a few months most likely. Really nothing else out there and just waiting for TSW/GW2. Giving a SWTOR a decent go until April.
I plan on subbing until GW2 releases, and maybe beyond depending on content updates. So for at least 3-6 months.
But I am a pretty casual player and only put in 10-20 hours a week at most. So the content already in game should last me awhile.
Simple answer is NO. Nice enough game but I can't see myself playing after the story is over. I'll be omw back to Rift.
High Five FTW!
I think its too soon to ask this question... Ask it again after the third week.
I Know some of the hard core players who have had this game consume their lives
may already have the answer because they are getting burned out from playing 10 to 12+ hours
per day since lauch or even the early start.
But for me..
I just started at launch day. and i only have one lvl 10 jedi.. Im enjoying the game Do i wish
he was higher? yea kinda, Do i wish i played 5 diffrent toons to lvl 20 by now? I don know..
You see I play when i get free time. I have a wife and 2 kids. 10 and 14yrs so im a Older gamer
a bit more mature then i used to be back when i was younger, Oh and i have a JOB!
So i play this game when i have FREE time.. So far since launch day i have played about 8 to 10 hours
total..
So its going to take me a while to get sick of the of the game because i dont have the time to play it
But in the time frame i can say that i have enjoyed the game, Yes Grouping seems to be hard.
unless your doing something that is calls for more then 1 player, nobody seems to want to play together..
I find this to be sad becaue thats the reason we all play a MMO!
Im just hoping that later lvls i find more people that WANT to play as a team..

yes
yup, subbed for 3 months
Yes
if i have expirienced everything at least once by then, then probabbly not. Pvp isn't thatt good to keep one for long
Without a doubt. Best MMO I've ever played.
