Give it 1-2 days, maybe something wierd is happening with x-fire, like happened before. It is a massive fall in just one day.
But really, I am not surprised if the new number is real. Boring is boring, getting boring for free is not really an incentive IMO.
If you're talking about the fall on thursday a few weeks ago when the patch came out, that happened because they had to pull all the server down during european prime time.

3179 for yesterday's figures taken from XFire today, we are back to where we were before the triple boost of 1.2, free time giveaway and rakghoul event. I think we will breach the 3000mark next week maybe just in the next 2 days

You know the servers were down for matience right?
3434 for yesterday's figures published on XFire today, I always find it strange how there is always a sudden drop on Monday when XFire figures have no relevance to the trends.

All day yesterday? Is that different to every previous Tuesday?

No. So your comparing the 3179 number for yesterday from last tuesday's number?

You can only compare like with like so yes, Mondays and Tuesdays will always be less than Sundays so you look at it by each day, so Tue vs Tue etc
3179; another new low I believe and yes I can see it breaching 3,000 in the next couple of days.
I found the total number of hours played interesting as well because the average hours played is high and has actually increased. At launch it was super high, at its peak 5-6 (shiny new + Christmas holiday) before dropping back into the 4-5 range and then declining into the 3-4 range. Perfectly respectable; there was a graph done that showed that all the mmos had pretty similar average hours.
Now however the average has gone back up to about 4.5.
Two possibilities - and maybe a mix of both.
- Existing subscribers are playing more because of 1.2 - the new content; that may have worn off or be starting to however.
- people playing on a 7 day trial; these folks will play more.
Low player numbers (specifically XFire users who also play SWTOR) and a "number of trial accounts" high enough to bump the average - if this is what it is - could indicate that things are probably evebn worse.
And this is not intended as a sky is falling thread ... but the average player hours has gone up even whilst the number of (XFire) players has gone down.

And once again this is mirrored by the light trend on torstatus.net.
That must be a coincidence as we have all been convinced now that XFire has no relevance whatsoever because Dave from Ohio and his friends no longer use it or know anyone who uses it.

What if xFire players are just a figment of our imagination?

What if your graph is the wrong way round, we will look like fools then won't we, as EA triumphantly announce their 3m subs.

I''d suggest that some of those on the list play the bounty hunter class, for reasons that are obvious to anyone who has played on Hutta.

Afganistan?
BAAAHAHAHHA
Looks like we got a WoW killer over here!
I remember when people were saying the launch in Asia would bring in 500k more subs
Also probably doesn't help that fact that SWTOR doesn't support any of those countries languages

Yes, they keep adding regions... and yet the game's population continues a mass exodus and they have less players despite it. Why play a game that, because of no cross server lfg tool, doesn't let you play most of the game?
RPers have consistently twisted what RPG means. In doing that, and consistently being the most vocal minority on pretty much every gaming related site, they are slowly killing the genre.

The most interesting XFire numbers will be on and around the dates when D3, GW2 and MoP release.
3,184.
It looks like the trend is legit. I am surprised to see the numbers fall back to pre-1.2 (+free this and that) so fast.
What can they do now?
They can pay me to play it
That'd have to be one fat ass check dog I'd just as rather be sent back down range..
PM before you report at least or you could just block.
I am really watching the numbers this weekend.
GW2 beta entry is pretty much tied to those who have purchased. Going to be a really interesting weekend I think for X-Fire numbers.

It's gonna be huge in Afghanistan.
10's of sales.
I am sure Andorra will double that easily.
Andorra is close to where I live , between Catalonia (my country) and France. They have catalan as an oficial language, which is my mother tongue
Sorry, i had to say it!!!
Go go Andorra with SWTOR!!!
