The Gamebreaker folks are ripping this game a new one
Lore, during his live stream, said that tab-targeting mmo combat is much more challenging and fun than TERA's action combat (he was level 3 :P). He basically ripped the game to shreads the entire time I watched actually :P
Gary Gannon tweeted last night that he made it to level 11 and that's all he could stand.
Mike B aka Fony says to wait if you were thinking about purchasing.
Taugrim criticized the PvP aspects saying that everybody will make tiny characters for a smaller hitbox.
Hmmm...I don't know - I was thinking about getting this game - is it really that bad? I actually see quite a few folks saying it's pretty good. It's hard to tell the difference between the adrenaline and elation of a new game and what's really happening.

Havnt played but I follow GBTV and Gary, Ed and Fony on Twitter and I trust them whole heartedly.

I say dont care so much what others say and especially people reviewing a beta at low level before getting into the game. Get ingame and feel how the game works and how it plays out, there is no reason to let others tell you wether its bad or good. I believe myself that this game is either a game people will love or hate and there is nothing in between. ; P
Your first mistake is caring what other people think about the game.
your second mistake is not having the balls to go try it for yourself and make your own mind up.
Something they do not like, could be something you love about a game, I fail to see why anyone would actually pay attention to what other people think of games. their not gaming heros that know everything for you to hang on their every word, their just gamers like everyone else.
Make your own mind up guy!. dont let some one else do it for you.

As with any game: You should try it out yourself.
It have the basics which is a good engine and few bugs, if the rest works for you or not is something only you can decide. I had pretty fun trying it out but I am not so sure I will actually buy it. Then again, I probably know after the beta is over.

For example, Mike B loves SWTOR, it's all he is playing right now in his own words, and before that he loved DCUO....

He seems a decent enough guy, but his taste isn't my taste.
The bottom line is that this and many other 'expert' sites and posters told me that SWTOR was the best game evah before and at launch... Luckily I had betad that one for myself and knew better.
Glad I'm entertaining you without even trying.
I also don't really need a crusade for a game I no longer care about... besides.. it's doing a good job on it's own

A couple of the others are still enjoying TOR or RIFT.
Why on earth would they be trying another title? An Asian one too, to add insult to injury.
Is there a free trial or is it still in beta? Haven't been following it.
It's basically in open beta, Frogster claims that the game is still in closed beta but if that was the case they wouldn't be handing out Beta keys like willy-nilly or lift the NDA.
It's in its marketing push right now, as evidenced by the gushing about it lately. I think the korean version of Tera has been out for about a year now?
I trust Mike B aka Fony to point out a games annoyances and flaws pretty early on. Doesn't necessarily mean a game is bad, just that it has flaws like every other game on the planet.
In that case, there's little harm in trying it out. So long as the OP doesn't have to shell out to test drive it, might as well verify those negative opinions personally, especially if there was interest beforehand. Were the game being sold, I certainly wouldn't recommend trying it "just to see". That's a great way to flush money down the toilet.
Dafuq is what id like to say, do everyone have beta keys to EU beta other than me and my pals? sadest of faces.
From what I can see, is most of these people bashing this game are SWTOR lovers.
If that is the case, this game must be amazing, cause SWTOR sucks balls.
It's so sad that people can't form their own opinions... Try the game yourself.
Just buy the pre-order mini version. It's only €4.95 and gives you access to all betas and the headstart. You can then upgrade to the full version later to play when the game has launched.

Oddly...
This is not a game I would have normally even tried. I started off as an Archer... then deleted that and split my time (by server due to 1 toon) between a Sorc and a Warrior. I really enjoy Warrior becuase you can't just stand there like most MMO's facerolling keys... well you can but the health related issues would lead you to laying down more than standing still.
I switched the Archer to Sorc because... the vast majority of ranged characters I saw were Archers or Priests. Tho I did play a Mystic for a bit. With the Sorc I enjoy aggroing a crap load of mobs then kiting them all over.
What I enjoy even more are the mob specials... one of them the mob curls up into a ball and rolls over anything in its path. I like that because if you time it right another player is riding by on their horse just then and the mob smashes them into the ground.. which makes me laugh.
Active targeting is fun... I didn't think it would be.
No faction by default pvp... I might decide to try it. I hate factions because then people who seem ot irritate me are my faction... tho since I can't loot them like in UO and such.. I may not be happy still.
I doubt I will play this game very much.... but it does humor me at the moment. Oh and I only played to level 20 so far out of the 22 levels you can hit this weekend.
I'll also throw in I would have played nothing but the warrior... there just happens to be a ton of people playing those as well. Not as many .. compared to lancers but too many. I think they will end up in the "Huntard" category ... because there will be so many bad Warriors... your chances outside of having a guild.. to get groups may be slim.
With grueling disgust I observe people lash out against the OP, who was simply dismayed by the opinions of gamebreakter.tv, a popular media-outlet.
Tera is fun
Im a little confused about their skill and ability system, but I am having a lot of fun playing a sorceresss.
I will say the sexualization fo woman in the game is a little strange but look at the demographic its marketed to.
As a woman, I do hope as the game progresses I can get a non sexualized outfit lol, but as far as gameplay goes. Lots of fun.
Chat, thats another story. Its like Barrens chat time a gajillion, but blocking is easy and I really want to waste my day away playing this game which is something I havent wanted to do in a while.
I need to know whats up with this island, and the graphics are crazy, like some sort of twisted coloring book dream.
I say try it and make your own opinion and stop letting others tell you what to think. I mean, isnt that the reason the world is so crazy to begin with?
