Great info, thanks for posting it here.

I tried TERA a little during the beta, but had very little time to devote to it.  I did enjoy the little I did play, however.  I'll give it another shot soon with the free trial.

Works only for the US servers. I will still give it a try :D Thanks OP.

I strongly suggest that every single one of you try the PVP during this trial, simply Popo your outlaw skill and fight people around your area just to get a taste of the system. The pvp in the game is really amazing, always keeps you on your toes especially when you focus on dodging shit.

Lol, today was the best day for PvP, we declared GvG on a guild we hate and I was helping a lowbie in the guild level when we saw a leveling party from the enemy guild so we went and killed them all, next thing a 60 shows up and I kill her then there's like 5-6 60s from enemy guild and 5-6 60s from our guild and we kill them all off, they regroup come at us again and we killed them all again.

So fun and no casualties on our side. xD

Also talking about focusing on dodging shit, today I was fighting the zerker prime on our server who has the T13 axe at +9, scary stuff, miss a dodge and youre in trouble, damn fun to fight someone who can hit that hard though(basically two shot you).

Seamless means there is no loading screen when you move across zones in the game, beside going in instance or using a teleporting scroll.

This is strike 2 on the way to f2p for Tera. Imma try it, now where did I put that patch to put the korean elins into the game insted of the censored us ones..  Gonna be a Elin lancer because in beta I couldn't stop laughing my ass off at how big the lance was compared to her. I found it halarious especally when she swings that thing 4 times her height one handed.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

maybe that's why they dont :P

Not sure about that in this case. It's pretty much a new mmo franchise and a new IP, also being a ported Korean game doesn't help much with getting the masses excited so quickly. At least not on the western hemisphere.

Myself I was only interested a little in this game, but not enough to buy it yet. I imagine there are tons of people on the same branch and 7 days of gameplay is an awesome opportunity to see whether this is worth it.

What I expect is that the typical themeparkiness and some of the korean design aspects will be detractors but fast paced combat, a seamless world (right?), and pvp servers could very well make it a very fun game. And yeah, it can has jiggly boobs too and I am compelled by instincts enough to to find that an appealing feature ^_^

    Downloading as we speak :)

24 gig client though, 12 hours to go. Too bad they don't detract the dl time from your seven day allowance :)

If you are frustrated with current MMORPGs for any reason other than combat (which I know you are) TERA isn't going to be the answer.

Of course, no reason not to try, free so nothing to lose.

The Game is Exactly what i wanted to be Combat wise... no more alt tab and button smashing.... nor too much unforgiving like darfall and the alike games are...i think its the perfect combination of the new era of mmo combat...

Yeah, as far as fantasy mmorpgs go this is probably the most fun combat system I've played (at low levels already).

I tried a sorc, archer and warrior and the combat is very entertaining. Positioning & movement, skill synergies / combo's and the real time aiming mean very compelling combat gameplay, already with just a handful of skills. Much, much better compared to standard alt-tabbing. I agree that Tera should be an example for other games in this aspect. In general it feels very intuitive too and requires little practice to get the hang of it.

Only the introduction, "prequel" bit, where you are level 20 and have a load of skills right off the bat was a bit overwhelming, yet very linear and dumbed down and I didn't like it so much at all. Glad that you get the option to skip it later, when you start new characters. Can't really see the whole purpose of that prequel intro.

Its good for people who want to test out classes and not have to lvl 8 character to lvl 20 to check them out. Also you don't have to do it even on first character. What you do is log out after going in th an you are given the option of skiping it.

It's also handy to test combat animations for various races depending on class.  Will I hate my human healer?  Log into the Prologue as a human priest, cast a few things move around see how it feels.  Then try an Amani...etc.  It is there so might as well use it.  But it's been agreed by the players at lasrge that while their intentions were good the execution not so much (for the Prologue.)

    @rexs and Reas

I can see your points and its value now. Thanks..

I think it's just that I wasn't expecting it, didn't read anything and I played it as though it was the actual start of the game. Took me a while to notice I was level 20 too :)

I don't blame you, I think the prologue was a good idea in general, but it just seems poorly executed and leaves a new player more confused than anything.

So I played the Trial.  I'm glad I did, because I found out that it sucked.  I'm also surprised that people were saying the graphics are better than GW2.  Don't know what they are smoking because I found the graphics inferior.  After experiencing the dynamic events of GW2, the quest system in Tera made my eyes bleed.

I'm quoting this to save it for posterity, since he might want to edit it later out of embarrassment. You can say many things about Tera, but saying it's graphics are inferior to any other MMO is just .....

another graphics vs asthetics .... To me graphics in Tera are great but asthetics leave much to be desired
