Anyone looking forward to geting Battlefield 2 coming out in June?
I for one sure am! When I saw the video of the helicopters and the two jets flying through the refineries just totally knocked me off my feet. No only that, but also reading that in this Battlefield they will have a ranking system that will show rank from recruit all the way to general and various other accomplishments that will give you acess to cetain things in the game like a field commander.

Hell yes! After seeing that same video the other day, I became so psyched. I loved 1942, so I hope BF2 is faithful to it. It certaintly looks awsome!
It seemed like Joint operations meets SOCOM II. I can't wait for it. I will be the one waiting at EB at 6:30 in the morning for its doors to open.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. After I saw the player using a defribilator (sp) to kill someone, then raise them to life again I have totally fallen in love. Nice ragdoll physics as well.

Is BF2 using Havoc for its physics engine? Sure looks like it.

I'd assume so since Havok is, I believe, the best physics engine out right now

Not sure, its definatly using a physics engine though. I was laughing to myself watching some of the videos when the ragdolls kick in after a big explosion, some of those bodies are flying 50 feet into the air!
it looks really good and can't wait!
All my endings are waiting to begin.
Battlefield 2 is almost release....i pre-ordered it in january already :P
but first "Brothers In Arms Road To Hill 30" in two day it should be release here
time to get smore ram
Ur all wrong..there is going to be no havoc engine.Even if there is it will be never as good a Half-Life2s.Im a big BF2 fan but still..no havoc engine that will be that great
Uhmm... I can barely understand that... but... the Havoc Engine is a constant. Its just up to how the devs use it. HL2 took it farther than any game before it. Max Payne also uses Havoc but to no where near the extent HL2 does. BF2 uses a physics engine but mostly for ragdoll and vehicles. There are minor items in the enviroment that will also be affected, but BF2 is an action/multiplayer game... it doesnt need a big flashy physics engine to get the job done, but all the better if it does.
It is a phsysics engine. What do you possibly want from it other then physics?

What?? Are you dumb? I just said, the developers only license the physics engine, they dont develope it. The Havoc that BF2 uses is the EXACT SAME THAT HL2 USES. HL2 just uses more of its features/objects,etc. And Desert Combat doesnt even look remotlely as good (it still looks good) as BF2. BF2 has much more advanced animations, effects, graphics options, etc.
Oh come on wootedgejr., watch the loop video. Desert Combat doesn't even come close.
The way that soldier's bum bag thing bounces as he runs is shear genius
He just does not know what he is talking about.

Vietnam and Desert Combat are keeping me occuped, but I probably will purchase 2 eventually. I haven't read much into it, so I don't know how accurate my knowledge is. 128 person battles, sans lag, probably only at big lans, should be effing sweet. The squad features seem pretty damn cool, and I think I remember hearing about integrated voice communication, which is great. I hope you can customize your loadout moreso than in vietnam. If anyone has played Firearms, I would love a loadout style like that, very open ended and open for strategy.

64 Is still the max number of players per map. Maps will also scale in size, depending on the number of people playing... so the same map will have three variations. One for 16 players, another for 32 and lastly the largets for 64 players.
