Quests getting more interesting later in game?

MisarisMisaris Member Posts: 140

So I gave the game another try at a friend who bought it, my question is do the missions get more interesting after lvl 10 or is the whole game about collect/deliver X or kill X ? The story doesn't really hook me and the dialogue cutscenes are quite.. basic...

Any interesting puzzles or mysteries to solve, a bit like Secretworld?

The heart quests are just fillers and they don't get very exciting higher up. The dynamic events though gets alot cooler and longer branching etc.

Yeah, you definitely don't want to base your view of the PvE in this game off the heart quests and personal story.  They are both pretty dull.  Exploration and the dynamic events is where this game shines in PvE.

level 28 (hacked atm), no, they get no better. I think I even saw copy paste repeat today.

If it wasn't for WvW, I wouldn't make it to cap.

You are just bitter because you got hacked... They are ALOT better in the higher zones, I did a lvl 42 dynamic event today that was a 6 parter. Not to mention dungeons starting at lvl 30 and world bosses like the shatterer at lvl 50.

Things do get better once you get into 35+ areas imo. Loot starts to look better, environments are sometimes much more interesting (such as the 'Branded' areas) and 'some' of the DEs are much more varied and complicated. Hearts are always the same sort of thing, but they shouldn't be considered the main focus anyway. Zone design also gets much more interesting and challenging, like the cave systems in Lornar's Pass.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

    Yes I am.

That doesn't change the fact that after 28 levels it's still "fight back tthe cenitars/bandits/or whatever."

The pve content imo is very boring. The rest of the game is great.

I used to play on the Amiga, games like CADAVER, when RPG meant puzzles, riddles, labyrinths and quests, why is everything so not brain challenging in this game? Also I don't play PvP at all, guess this game is really not for me anyway.

    Someone should do Zelda Online

If you want those things the closest offering is TSW.

Most MMOs these days are just kill x, escorts and collections.  Kind of sad really.

Blame walkthrough guides for killing those.

Yes I play Secretworld and love it but I am afraid to run out of missions soon because I play TSW a lot so I wanted to take my time (city of the sungod right now), maybe play something in between the monthly issues. Any more MMOs with a good classic puzzle/riddle/mysteries component ?

Yupp there are alot of those types of DE's and heartquests. But atleast this game has alot of intresting and fun quests and DE's in there. And if you dont like em you can explore, craft or pvp and everything gives you XP. I never liked the PVE in any MMO since DAOC. GW2 has awaken my interest in it again, i'm usually a PVP centric player but I can't seem too stop PVE'ing.
