I doubt it, cata sold 3.3 million at launch the hype for MoP seems to be far lower then any previous WoW release and i know i'm not the only one that will make MoP the first wow expack they do not buy, at least not on launch.
Unlikely considering Cata didn't sell anywhere near that amount at launch and MoP isn't exactly attracting people, many shying away from pandas (which is stupid I'll give you), or over-all the dumbing down of the game (which is me, WHY would you make talents so stupid!), and overall just people being bored of it. Nostalgia can only carry the game so much before you get bored of it and your far less likely to jump back in due to an expansion.
Don't get me wrong, it will sell a lot just due to what it is, but its quite steep expectations to think it will sell that many.
It's strange they never said blizzard is the most valuable company in the world like apple. However panda Is the most requested race sine thaw burning crusade expansion.
I do not believe you because you did not make up a ratio to an unknown, and then calculate your total sales from there. There's no XFire numbers, no debatable historical numbers, nothing. You didn't even put anything in there about stocks.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Do t worry lizard mmorpg.com will probably have the millions of sales in 48 hours for mop like every expansions since wow came out. It'll be on the front page of mmorpg.com. I don't even need to predict because I know.
Originally posted by Dragonantis Its possible, yet I dont wanna be here for the flood of salty tears that come a week after launch.
Uhm, that is cryptic.
From Wow fans, Wow haters or someone else?
I dont see anyone crying, most likely will the game sell a huge amount but not quite as many as OP think. That wont make anyone cry except maybe Activision CEO because he hoped for 5 million copies in 24H.
It won´t sell more than Cata. Remember, that people were actually kinda happy with WoW until Cata came out, so the '' real '' bad story begins actually after Cata. Today we have got many more competive titles that will, probably, make many oldy gamers of WoW not want to try the new exapnsion.
One thing may make WoW the king, quality wise again: a revolutionary expansion, and I don´t really see MOP to be that,
The drop in playerbase will result in less sales than Cata. Lich King etc....not that it matters. It will be successfull and alot of people will play for a long time coming..who gives a damn about actual sales.

Don't quite get what you are saying on that first highlight, that Panda's are stupid or that it is stupid to be shying away from Panda's?
On the second highlight, i am actually liking the new talents very much as they have finally made the selected talents meaningful for me as i can actually add in the talents that mean more to me depending on how i am playing that character and with glyphs being distilled down as well they have actually managed to give me more choice in my character customisation with less clicks of the mouse if that makes sense (probably not).
On the sales front, i have already said in the previous thread that i would expect to see more along the lines of Wrath numbers of around 2.7-3Mill at launch pushing on to between 4-5Mill in the first month, but i suppose we will see when it actually hits.
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

I heard a rumour that they will give you MoP if you subscribe to WoW for the next 10 yrs, what a bargain .

i doubt pandas will be as popular as the human/elf races
for horde side - i bet youll see twice as many blood elves

all wrong,
MoP will sell 4.21 mio and not 4.2 mio
it's because I say so
(*facepalm league*)
i dont deny that they were requested most at Blizzcon
but i believe when MOP launches,
youll see twice as many new blood elves as Pandas, on horde side
players like elves, its a "thing" w any fantasy mmo

More then CATA in the same time? Nah, I think it will sell slightly less based on the fact that there are fewer Wow players now than before.
I guess 3 million copies 24H after launch. Still a huge number of course but not most ever.

I would'nt be surprised if it does.
I'm as likely to return to WoW with MOP as I am to return to Doom 2 if ID released an expansion for that.
