Give it up now if your ever intending to run as a candidate for politcal office . Don't tell your friends of family you play it and what ever you do don't call yourself Amanda the Panda .
Being serious now on your fist character use gathering proffessions like herbilsm and mining . Sell the materials on the auction house and you'll earn lots of gold .
Levels 1-20 just quest for a bit
Levels 20-80 I would pvp in the battlegrounds if your not new to playing games because you will get fed up with grinding dungeons that its impossible to fail at unless you have one arm and have extremly bad eyesight. Questing is pretty much the same your superman in a world where theres no kryptonite .
80-90 you night find some sort of reasonably challenging pve .
End game grind raids and dungeons and battlegrounds untill you lose all hope of having a life .
Alternativly play Guild Wars 2 . And Planet Side 2 and the War Z when they are released . You'll not have to worry about subscriptions each month .
I would imagine there will be more buy to play games in future and to be honest from what I've seen of two of those three games they make Warcraft look old hat .
Did you even read what he wrote? He played GW2. Why shouldn't he give the most popular and successful MMO of all times a try?

you can upgrade that -- including MOP and all expansions, for grand total of $60.00 on the Battlenet site
I know that both EQ2 and AoC used to do that, but since they both are F2P now they stopped. But I am pretty sure there still are games like that, no clue about Wow though.

Stay away from WoW General. Forever, if possible.
