1. where is the free trail for DF?
2. If we buy DF will we have to pay for unholy wars?
If so ill slap the 10 bucks down play for a month or two and then switch to DF UW.

The free trial offer Darkfall offered a while back appears to have been cancelled. The offer use to be available by registering an account from the URL below, then click the free trial option.

Darkfall: Unholy Wars will basically be a new game, so I would suspect we would need to purchase it. Although I would like to see some sort of discount made available for legacy Darkfall fans.
However, if Darkfall: Unholy Wars is worth it, then I'm willing to pay full retail.
There was mention of not having to buy it over , when it was suppose to be a update to df 1...now they have said this is a completely new game .so I assume u will have to buy it separate
They got rid of the free trial a few months back due to dropping the box price to free and the sub to 10 bucks a month. So if your keen to try it out all you need to do is create a account, sub it, download and play.
There has been 0 news on how DF:UH will be priced and if previous players will get a discount or whatnot.
Personally, I wouldnt expect a freebie or significant discount as from memory no other game has offered this, eg. GW1 players didnt get GW2 for free or at a discount. Hopefully though, DF:UH is priced reasonably so people who were sitting on the fence about it will be more inclined to pick it up.

Though, it was a pretty short interview...meh.

No free trial. The current game is in full "CASINO" mode with 20x xp and 4x loot. Think casting a skill and getting a weeks worth of use in one shot. Get to max in a month of decent play...
The game only has a $10 sub no box.
They promised subbed players something special for staying with the old version to the end. There is still no word on a wipe though it wouldnt make sense not to so dont expect it all to carry over since a lot is changing.
They are calling it a whole new game despite its obviously an overhaul...cant gurantee if they are going to sell a new box and expect old players to buy it.
Joining the current version as a new player, specifically a new player from themepark-land...its going to be...well...interesting.
The GUI is a brutal learning cure (they fix it in the new game) you need to macro so you can swap weapons mid combat and you need to do that asap to have a decent chance. You need to google the "darkfall yourmom map" without it you will think the world is void of any mobs, with it you wont belive how many mob spawns there are.
Also 99% of the game is criminal, mostly because of seiges and 3rd party interference. Most players dont want to bother noob but would rather offload tons of gear thats junk to them. All starter areas and NPC cities are ghost towns for the most part. The entier population is in clan holdings, join a large clan asap...right after your done getting your keybinds and weapon swap macros set and learn the ropes. Every clan is recruiting new players, if not they are allied to a new player clan so you can enjoy their holdings.
Your race matters a lot. Choose female human or miridian(elf) for the best reach to hit box ratio. Male: dwarf,human,elf are good. The wolf and ork are melee gimp due to having to aim down ruining their reach and negating their great passives for melee. Alfars cant stickyback in melee but are easy to miss. Wolf is good for range combat.
Its still a good buy for the price considering youll be usefull fast with the casino leveling.
Oh and this isnt like a wow game, this game has a learning curve, the community understands its rough for a new player. People will help you and wont call you a dumbass for asking stupid questions.
ummm bro it isn't gonna be that bad of a tansition.... This is not my first sandbox. Already got a good grasp of what to expect, but understand it not gonna be like my old sandbox. I'm an EvE vet.
The free trial was removed about a month ago when they removed the box fee for buying Darkfall. It only costs 10 dollars to create an account and get started, but no more free trial for whatever reason.
Aventurine has said in the past that those that bought Darkfall won't have to buy Unholy Wars, but that was a year ago, we don't know if that's changed.
1. Free trial was stopped when they reduced the sub.
2. You can no longet buy the origional Darkfall game, you will have to wait for the pre-purchase offers for DF:DW when they come around..
So yes you can play Darkfall for a few months but you wont get free access to DF:UW like the people who did buy DF(if this is still the case for people who brought DF)
If you cant buy it why is there a 10 dollar client fee?
When I click on buy it says 10 for the client download then says first month is free then 10 bucks reoccuring fees.

thats becasue they didnt want to chagne their billing website much.. they aint touched that site for at least 2 years lol..

Now i guess it is worded badly but i think they mean you can no longer buy the game.. i dont think they would leave the door open for people to basically buy DF:UW for $9.95 when they are planning on selling it at full retail price LOL..
Could be wrong but i think you would need to contact their support to get confirmation direct from them.. anyone on here is really just taking a guess at the end of the day..
right ill do that thanks for the info. Full retail price? I was told it would sell for 30 bucks per unit.

£30 is about full retail price... but yeah its $30 so less then games usually retail at
pretty fair price
