I like how all the people who spent their time talking smack about this game suddenly want to join the beta -.- you know which ones you are, two faced people.
Marvel Hero: Iron Man
Why?
Captain America. He is a leader of men and respected by all of his peers due to his good nature.
However he is a man out of time and many people can identify with feeling a bit out of place.
Despite this he carries on and puts the needs of the masses beyond his own and his own safety.
For game use his leadership is appealing but so too is the use of his Shield and his vastly capable Martial arts abilities. He is a true hero.
The merc with a mouth is my favorite superhero. I hope he breaks the 4th wall in the game too.

I'd love to swing by the city and to web those bad guys, while telling jokes all around!
Doctor Strange. Very few Marvel heroes are so goofy, but take themselves so seriously. Few Marvel heroes also have the distinction of being used as deus ex machina so often. His powers are limitless, unless something minor happens to him, like being shot. He was clearly modeled after Vincent Price, so that's a big win. If he mutters and incantation wrong, he could turn New York City into a big pile of Jell-O. He is so strangely treated by Marvel that he wasn't included in the Marvel Vs. Capcom series of games until after two of his most significant villains, Dormammu and Shuma Gorath, had already been included in previous iterations. He says things like "by the hoary hosts of Hoggoth," "by the seven rings of Raggador," and "by Cytorrak's crimson bands!" He's been an Avenger, a Defender, and a member of the Illuminati. He recently handed over his title of Sorcerer Supreme to Brother Voodoo, only to realize that there was no way that was going to work out. There is nobody as all-powerful, or at times, seemingly all-weak. Whenever he shows up on the page, you never know if he's about to banish people to alternate dimensions, or be defeated by a particularly nasty hangnail.
Tough decision, but I'm going with Eddie Brock, Lethal Protector. I can't decide between Venom or Anti-Venom, as they're both equally awesome, so I'm choosing the man beneath the alien suits.
I still consider the original Venom a hero (or at least an anti-hero) because he was bad mostly whenever Spider-Man was about to muck up his day, or when another hero mistakes his good intentions because he's labeled as a villain. Venom was always misunderstood, and his run as the Lethal Protector of the citizens of Underground San Francisco proves he was one of the good guys all along.
Anti-Venom was, in all honesty, the best next step for Eddie. Anti-Venom is all about redemption and healing, two somethings Eddie desperately needed after all his crimes and sins. And Eddie really wanted to change and be the hero he always thought himself to be.
I'm not gonna throw him into this vote as Toxin, though, because so far the symbiote has been manipulated by Crimemaster to be evil and attack Agent Venom, and Crimemaster forced Eddie to bond with the Toxin symbiote when Eddie never wanted to bond with a symbiote again.
In conclusion, Eddie Brock is a hero out-and-out. His methods and twisted sense of innocence may drive him to the brink of insanity and villainy--and yeah, he did cross that line plenty of times--but his intentions are pure. He wants to protect the world and the innocents, punish the guilty, and kill all symbiotes.

The obvious reason is because she can throw lightning and create weather effects that would be amazing to see and use in a decent game. On a side note, she also has an extesive character background (both parents dieing at a young age and being treated as a goddess) and a fighting ability (trained by Wolverine) that would make any marvel fan faint. She even lead the X-men (after lossing her powers and then beating Scott).
