I thought i could play any game with a low end gaming computer worth 220$, specially when we're talking about mmo's, but i can't even run planetside 2. Are there more like me who got a decent computer, but cant run ps2?
I can run almost any game. Battlefield 3, skyrim and i dont lag in skyrim at all... These game graphics are top notch, but i always find a way to turn down the graphics to make them playable. PS2 dont want to give me a chance. I just cant laucnh it cuz i dont have the minimum requirement. It just refuse to make any effort cuz im pretty sure i can make it playable if it was launchable.
For those who did not downloaded or do not have a cd key for ps3, Google: can you run it. Type planetside 2 beta. See if you can run it.
I just really hope that i will be able to run it one day because based on the amount of recent games i can launch, i refuse to upgrade my computer for 1 single game.
You know I felt the EXACT same way.. I am not sure what the issue is, but every other game I play runs superb on usually ultra or even high graphics.. I have to set Planetside to all low just to even have a shot in low populated areas.
Is this game a PC exclusive? Or is this engine basically a port of the code they are going to use to bring it to consoles? Usually ports are the types of games that run like 3x slower than a game truly optimized for PC such as BF3 and Skyrim..
They need to do some optimization, or change the minimum specs to that of a high end pc (i7, GTX 680 etc)
We all understand that to play a game we need to have a decent machine. Thing is that PS2 on a decent machine runs craptastic.
The only machines running PS2 decent are very high end machines. Ati users have it even worse as PS2 is optimised with Nvidia.
I can run 95% of my games on high and some on medium, PS2 can only run on Low and i mean evrything on low. 3 patches ago tough i had stuff on high / medium with decent frames, last 3 patches made my fps run into the low 20's -_- I had 60fps and 40 fps in the santuary before, now its 10/15 fps.
One can only hope that the final build has a 50% increase in performance or it might turn out that not many people can and will play PS2 wich is bad news for a studio making a mmo.
For it to be a little succesfull it needs to run on alot of machines, and it just runs fracking lame.
if you can not care to give us your computer stats then why should we care if you can not run PS2 or not. It must be totaly unkel though as i run the game very well on a i3 with 8G ram and a 550 Ti... And that is not really a monster machine. I used to have a 8800 GTX but it finally gave up the go recently.
So what are you trying to run it on... a EeePC or an old 486?

And already I have to stop you. 220 is not a gaming computer, period. If you posted up your specs we can show you where you need to upgrade though.
No need.. All the OP would have to do is go to these guys here and any setup or parts listed for each setup could be considered either a decent upgrade or complete "gaming" setup.. Although for the record I have never owned a 'dream machine' and have been pretty much a solid PC only gamer since 2000..
Some people will recommend "overkill" by speaking about the latest and most expensive technology. I think the poster up above with the i3 and 550ti is probably the 'value' the OP is looking for.. However I have a hard time buying that an i3 and 550ti could fully run this game better than my GTX 560 and Q9400 (not an I series, but definitely not the bottom of the barrel either)
