SP games. MMOs are mostly F2P now.

May be Marvel Heroes if the game is really good, and i really want to play Iron man.

In terms of mmorpgs, I will probably end up buying Archeage, TESO, and when they come out, , WildsStar, The Black Desert and EQ Next. Hopefully, one of them sticks as something I can play for a few years, if not, I'll be waiting again.....

    Online games and MMO wise

    - World of Tanks has already had some cash off me im sure ill spend some more.

    - War Thunder, I think this plays a lot better than WOP does.

    - World of battleships, wel if this does come out this year then ill be throwing money at that cant bloody wait.

    - Heroes and Generals, quite enjoying this in beta at the moment so will probally throw some cash its way on release

    - The Repopulation will get some of my cash when its released.

    - If Archeage pre-orders go up at the end of the year then some will go to that.

Might be some more but not sure..

I'll just play free games (for free) and spend my cash on other forms of entertainment.

Wow... this hobby really has been hijacked by people that don't honestly and genuinely even like it.

People that don't get enough fun from playing these games to spend even a minimal amount on them (yet who will invest their precious leisure time into them... the mind boggles) and seem to have a deep animosity to what these games fundamentally are.

Worst thing is that folks like the guy above me here are the ones steering the industry.

If we were steering the industry they never would have dared put in a dungeon grind in GW2.

Also, if I never wanted to socialize I would just play single player games.  Sometimes I do like to socialize, but I never want it shoved down my throat.  I never want to be forced to.  And that is why I'm done with spending money on MMOs.  In the end, devs always force us to socialize to progress or to protect ourselves from roving gankers or both and that's a stupid formula that does and should limit their profits.

Dear devs, make room for those of us who only socialize when we feel like socializing and not when your game requires a dungeon for a specific piece of gear or we will stop spending our money with you.  Or I will, anyway.

The thing is that in MMOs today, grouping is everything but forced. Same goes for socializing. Few games don't allow players to run from Lv.1 to Lv. Cap solo.

If you dislike current MMOs because they 'force grouping and socializing' (hint: they don't) well you're seriously playing the wrong genre. Play CORPG games instead, Diablos, PoE, etc.

Hint:  Level cap doesn't mean the game is over.  Top end gear acquisition (or gear acquisition in a reasonable timeframe) is indeed tied to grouping in MMOs.

You're seriously trying to tell me what I should play now?  I like MMOs.  I like large, persistant worlds to explore with other people in them.  I'm fine with MMOs right up to the point where I log my main in and want to go off by myself but realize that what I 'need' to be doing in order to 'keep up' with the other hamsters is grind a dungeon with other players.  And that if I don't do the dungeon pretty soon no one will be doing it because they'll be on to the next one or looking for geared players to speed clear it and that furthermore I'll be left to get my butt kicked in pvp.

    Stupid design.

    EVE Online - subscription

Combat Arms - holiday weapons and perms

DUST 514 - my son likes the tanks

Age of Conan - I don't know what the heck it is with me and this game. I don't touch the game for months but the minute they release an expansion or new content update, I buy it and play the crap out of it for a month straight. Then it goes back on the shelf until the next update.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

To CCP, the lion's share of what I throw at games.

A little gold for my tanks, some minor conveniences are nice to have.

I gave a decent chunk to Goblinworks earlier in January, though that won't come to fruition for a few years... I still consider it money well spent (the swag was fairly nice.)

I'd throw some more money at Chivalry, but the content update will be free. I'm pretty okay with that.

If Rome II arrives this year I will buy it, finding time to really play it will be another matter.

    That's basically it, I think.

If history repeats itself I will spend all I have, and more, on a game called blackjack. I can't wait

New hardware, I'm finally getting a great raid storage system. ;-)

Other than that, well, Vanguard. I have kind of given up checking out new MMOs in the past year, they are all disappointing anyway.

I'm spending as little as possible give the economic crisis in the USA. Elder Scrolls  is the only possible expense I am considering....depending on how the game  turns out.

pretty much agree with this post.

may be will spend some money on WoW, not yet so sure too; may be will try tSW (thinking about), may be something new will attract my attention, but more like nowhere.

try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.
Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2

I'm going to try Tera again. If I like it, I'll resub.

if Neverwinter isn't a train wreck even though my gut feeling suggests it might be, I'll drop cash in their shop.

If EQ Next is available this year (doubtful), I'll spend money on it.

    ArcheAge and TESO
  • AeliousAelious Member RarePosts: 3,521
Other than subbing to WoW during terms it will be spent on new releases. Could be TESO once I play beta or Archeage for the same reason. Above all I'm excited about EQN but year end is the quickest release I would guess and both TESO/AA should be out well before then.

I'm not in that much of a hurry, my main focus is studies.

If I stop spending $30 per month on video games and invest that money in a 5% retirement account, I would have nearly $25,000 in 30 years!

Screw that.  I'll probably just die young and not need it.  If I do somehow live, I'll just let society pay my bills.  Video games > being prepared for retirement.

Also think of it this way...

In 30 years, with how inflation is going, that $25K will probably be worth $30 in today's money. :D
