I couldn't care less, I will eventually get some by just playing the game, but unlike gear tiers in WoW clones, they are absolutely not necessary to enjoy the full content of GW2.

Think biggest confusion is because they call it "tier" which is atomatically connected to "tiers" in EQ/WoW clones and if theres a "tier 1" then there will be "tier 2" content where you will HAVE to have "tier 1 " (in this case ascended) aka "gear gating" (where you mathematically cannot beat content and no amount of skill can help if you arent in T1 gear)

But since i fail to see that course if events in GW2, theres no need to panic as some do.

Ascended is rarity in context of EQ/WoW clones, not tier.

Will put this on his bookmark so when Anet launches their first expansion that reveals that the new dungeons require Agony resistance of ## amount on one's armor effectively making it cut off content from those who haven't gotten Ascended armor that has Lore in it that no player has ever seen or that drops essential materials or currency for advancement, so that I and many like me will remember how people claimed there was nothing wrong with a new tier that wasn't needed, or a dungeon focus going against 7 years of a manifesto, or the claims that the armor wasn't necessary to play and enjoy the game. We'll also be watching WvW videos once full Ascended gear is launched to see if the weaker classes that almost no one plays anymore because of poor design and bugs suddenly have the ability to 1 shot people due to this gear's combined higher stats in all 12 slots.

And when/if that never comes to pass... then what? Do you admit you were wrong, or do you simply ignore it and complain about a different aspect of the game?

It will see, they've already stated they will have dungeon only gated content that requires agony resistance. When that happens I'll be coming back to these posts looking to see if the people who were suffering from Stockholm syndrome haven't deleted their accounts like they did for SWTOR some time ago. Yeah that's right, was write about that game too and guess what, the very people who were so in love with SWTOR who said it would never go F2P who said nothing was wrong with it and that it was my imagination that they lost so many players, ran off in the end. Obvious problems are obvious. They won't go away even if you close your eyes and wish REALLY hard they're still going to stay unless the Devs do something about their crappy resource management and bait and switch tactics.

If you've played the game you know the Ascended announcement they had in November, no need to link it.

I asked sometime ago if you are still playing the game.

I haven't seen a answer to that (but I might just have missed it).

So I'll ask again if you are still playing the game?

    Currently playing: GW2
Going cardboard starter kit: Ticket to ride, Pandemic, Carcassonne, Dominion, 7 Wonders
