When Trion kills off a long running, revolutionary, much loved CRPG series, only to later resurrect it as a tablet-based, shallow ARPG,  then I'll start comparing them to EA. Until then even their worst pales in comparison.

EA was practically proud to win worst company in america again. For the second time. They went ahead and said "Yeah right, you dont hate us because you still buy our crap!" Which is why I dont buy EA anything or even play free2play.

But I understand not wanting to be compared to EA.

UO (after aquisition), WAR, SWTOR. I would say it is offensive and insult really. Not that I like Trion whatsoever but comparisons with EA after all EA did is an insult, nothing more.

Also this topic you linked should be locked. Just some setncence that came out of nowhere that is not clearly related to anything real regarding game, it's community, etc.

Considering what EA represents and the fact trion is often considered one of the best publishers/developers out there, even among people who aren't fans of their games, it is quite a huge insult to be fair.

They potentially removed key drops on side missions. You need keys to buy loot lock boxes and is the primary source of decent gear. This led a few derpy people to the knee jerk reaction that they would have to use the cash shop to buy them, because getting keys from arkfalls and buying them with the tech currency apparently was ignored.  So instead of being able to buy loot lock boxes every 15-20minuets it now is going to take like an hour.  Most people salvage their lock box loot so they can buy more of the keys they need to buy more lockboxes...on top of dropped loot.  Its REALLY easy to get those boxes even after the keys got removed as a reward for some of the side missions and repeatable stationary events (you can walk into an oil refinery and trigger the mission any time you want for example, oil refinery will always be there and some side missions take you there and have you do other stuff on top of the event)

So a couple people posted that Trion = EA and the thread got locked lol.

 

When Trion starts buying beloved indy developers, taking their beloved IP and ruining the IP's name and tradition by creating a shallow cash grab game, while at the same time destroying the indy studio....then i will agree.

I mean theres a mass gave over at EA headquarters with a lot of once great indy studios.  Their products taken through the meat grinder by EA...that is why i hate them..

 

Oh they nerfed sawed off shotguns because people were effectivly one shotting people in pvp with them after sneaking up on them with cloak.  Dont agree with pvp nerfs that ruin pve balance, which is kind of what happend to shotguns today.

 

Its actually kind of funny, here threads like that would get anyone whos rooting for another game to agree but over there the threads got laughed at before getting locked.

 Quite basically those people are playing it wrong themselves and blaming Trion.

Lockboxes are useless - they are waste of credit and keys. I've never gotten any synergy capable weapons from them. You are better off getting resources from critical kills using sniper rifles (which is why I use sniper rifle a lot - with one of the perks in cloak you get very frequent item loots).

Synergy mod boxes are the ONLY thing that anyone should waste script + keys on. That and any good epic gears WITH proc effect WITH synergy capability that sometimes comes up on vendors.

I think its funny that people are still trying to bring this game down. Defiance is here to stay. They should ban that guys account.
