Originally posted by funcon I just got an invite yesterday for stress test. You should check your mails. I dl the client but it says failed at end of download. Anyyone know what is wrong?
They only sent out about 15,000 invites and there are about 300,000 people that registered according to Carbine. That means each of us has a 5% chance to get in. So no, we didn't get invites and constantly checking our email is not going to change that.
My "thank you for signing up" e-mail is dated 3rd October 2011 and I haven't received an invite.
Great way to reward those who have been interested about the game for years Oo
Anyone else in the same boat?
signed up the day it went up. However they chose last time based on cookies from their twitter and website (or so I heard) and since I wait for all news to pop up on here. Not surprised I didn't get in

Can't say I have ever heard of not being able to say your application to beta was accepted (notice that this is different than saying you are actually in beta) ... in literally the dozens of beta events I have been in. You can't reveal anything other than that of course.
If true I can't wait to actually read their NDA ... because you do NOT sign it or even see it within content of first notification so no person can possible know of ANY restrictions. What I am saying is that I am under zero restrictions at this point as I have signed no NDA nor have the ability to even dl or play the client at this time ... yet I have the knowledge that I have been accepted for beta account creation.
I should add that I take NDAs very seriously and whatever restriction (once presented to me) one brings I abide by it. I'm in IT and have had contract work for Bioware Edmonton in the past and when your career is based upon living up to the NDAs you sign you learn to take them very seriously. . Also at this point forward (as I believe the NDA is part of the one step which I hadn't gotten to previously) I wont' discuss anything further either way. Better safe than sorry!
Funny thing is that they've raised the minium specifications from what they were in 1,5 years ago so basically, unless you were using a high-end rig back then, your application information is outdated and you probably won't even clear the filter.
Considering they haven't provided the possibility of updating your information it's highly unlikely people who were interested about the game 1,5 years ago are not even considered for the beta.
