It is really more of a basic tutorial video for people new to the genre, much like their PS3 UI video.  Still it is well done, and useful for people trying to get an idea of what the early game might be like (for more casual players).

Very nice, the graphics still are the best I've seen. Lets just hope the game is what it was meant to be oh so long ago!

So GW2 DE's basically is what the video looked like.

I'll be honest, I'm a bit worried about the combat, it looks pretty poor. Hopefully I get into the beta to get some hands on with it, but holy moly does it look static.

Combat is designed to be very easy and linear at the early levels.  Think of WoW.  Create a wow character and level it to 30.  Then play a Wow Character at 85 in a raid setting.

It's meant to get progressively harder as you level up because you will have many abilities that are on and off the global cooldown. Your weapon skills will also require that you attack from either the front, back or the sides to get an additional buff or debuff on you.

Boss mechanics will also require to constantly move or you'll die.  See Ifrit Video from E3, which was the ultra easy version of the fight.  I fought the hard mode and it took us 4 weeks to down Ifrit, constantly.  Most groups did it in two weeks, but still... that's pretty good in terms of difficulty.

He is playing a mid level LANCER, not exactly the epitome of tact available.

I would personally never play as a class once I had jobs unlocked even solo, but that's just me.  I prefer a more complex/specialized build, but some people like to solo and play as "jack of all trades" aka classes.

Read up on the Job System there is quite a bit more to them than classes.

This is a well made video about the FATES in the game.

Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

Im on my phone (work) so I guess it doesnt show on the mobile site.

Thats was a great video though, cant wait to see it at home in full HD. Finally! Even though it was just showing FATEs I got to see some actual non-interupted gameplay from this. Seems a bit too "flashy" though, hopefully theyll let us tone it down.

You can customize the "flashiness" of the graphics.... this was one of the main complaints in Beta... they have addressed...it's customizable.

Biggest pro for this when I compare it to GW2 - cause let's be honest it's similar to DE's in GW2:

    Trinity!

    That's right.

We saw Yoshi getting his butt kicked by the drunken NPC, tank and healer roll up and they save the day.

Much more room for more interesting combat mechanics using trinity IMO.

In that way it really reminds me of Rift - so kind of a Rift / GW2 hybrid system in FATE.

I do wonder if they are all combat-only based or if there will be FATE with non-combat objectives?

I'd be surprised if it was, there were objectives in FATE during phase 1/2 that weren't really combat related (raiding a goblin camp and stealing back supplies for example).  Also Hamlet defense has been confirmed as a FATE and in 1.x that heavily used DoH and DoL.

Also since Frontlines will have crafters/gatherers involved I imagine on the PvE side we will see it in FATE too.
