Warhammer Online finally going free-to-play?

Greetings Warhammer Subscribers,

During a recent evaluation of our account center we have discovered the interest in the 6 month game time codes and 6 month auto renewals are very low.  We have come to the decision to remove those from our system.  Please note that 6 month game time codes will still be accepted if you have purchased them,  but you will no longer be able to purchase  these codes after June 18th, 2013.  For 6 month auto renewal subscribers we would like to suggest you go to the Mythic account center ( https://accounts.eamythic.com/ )   and change your auto renewal to 3 or 1 month auto renewal at this time to insure your account stays active at your subscription date.

I would say it definitely sounds like something is cooking.  Why put effort into removing an option that is giving you money, unless something is up.  Hope for their sake (and I suppose ours) that its f2p not shutting down.  Good catch btw.

Where do you come up with F2P from that??

It simply states they aren't selling enough of the year and 6 month subscriptions to warrant the continued selling of them and will go to 1 and 3 month options only.

Asheron's Call stopped selling 3 month, 6 month and yearly options MANY YEARS AGO now and it still isn't F2P nor has it shut down. Just sayin'

For now, I would take it for what it says and nothing more.

Now, I am sure that it isn't selling a ton of subscriptions these days, tho I could be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually went F2P or shut down entirely.

However I don't see either of those happening from what you copy and pasted here. So NOT YET.

    That's what I gather anyhow.

Well it takes effort (ie money) to remove the option, so either they're making an extremely dumb business move (shutting down a source of revenue, however small, without any upside whatsoever) or it's part of a bigger strategic plan.

AC1 removing that option sounds like it was just a poor business decision.

I'd give it another shot if it goes F2P.

Those cards have been gone from the shop since last year, they just now said anything about it.

    So basically it means nothing.

On another note: Wrong forum :p
