Hope Wildstar is all you hope it is and more though.
This site is geared towards more purist MMO players. A lot of people who post on this site are in their 30s which means they were playing mmos before WoW. So you should understand why they don't hype wow and gw2.
A real mmo you love and play for years, not even thinking of jumping from mmo to mmo. WOW and GW2 are not this type of game.
EQ, FFXI, DAOC, EVE... these games are deeper and more challenging.
I have played WoW for 9 years now, off and on at the end though. I know lots of others who have as well. Difficulty? WoW has some fights which are recognized as the most difficult in the history of the game. So yah, take foot and gently cram it in your mouth.
You probably are right about the patrons of this community, but as I said. No one wants to play those sandbox games anymore. They are old and outdated. Wildstar does have some sandbox elements to it, and I don't mind that. I am all for pleasing as many people as possible. Despite that this game is launching with lots of sandbox features this community can't see them, and just smirks at the game and wrists it off as WoW 2.0.
For someone who came here to just talk about how bad people on this site are, you really show us how to be the better person. Insulting people, talking down to them-nice. Why even bother posting here with the dregs of humanity if you have all these better wildstar forums to post in.
And as for WoW being unquestionably the best mmo-just cause it makes the most money doesn't make it the best, just the most popular. Popular does not equal greatness. It's all individual opinion, so plenty of people could question that assumption. And you come here to dump on other games, to make you point about how people here are terrible for dumping on other games? Not sure why you even bothered posting on this site.
Edit: And there are plenty of nice people that post positive things, or just have civil discussions. It's the internet, there will always be negative to go with the positive. You can actually get good info about games from both. Only people posting misinformation or trolling really derail threads.

Its has been falling steadily since and people are less inclined to talk about games they don't have much hope for or remind them of the closest thing to Wow since... Wow.

Sticking your foot in your mouth is just an old saying dude... Simply, meaning you regret what you just said. I was implying that he should regret saying that, as it isn't factually true.

Implied? I just gave a rather positive review of the game. My only fault with it is that it isn't an enduring MMO, but we kind of knew that going in.
TESO does seem like GW2 in Tamriel. Which essentially meant that I have serious doubts about the games end game potential and its endurance as an MMO.

No, I didn't know that, but I had a good guess something like that was going on. That was what I was implying in my OP. EQnext is only #1 because there isn't any, or much, info about it out.
Also, I am assuming it was mostly the same people who put TSW as #1 that kept down rating Wildstar, so lets just say I don't put any sort of credibility in that list.
Then again, what do you expect from a community that doesn't even put wow in the top 30 of MMOs. Yet, the Secret World is BEST, numero uno, amongst released games. ROFL! The #1 game of all time by far is the one in which almost no info at all exists. Interesting...
Who makes this list? TSW is absolute garbage, and WoW is unquestionably the BEST MMO ever made. Heck, even if you were insanely biased yo would have to put WoW in top 5 or top 10. Now don't even bother replying with that idiotic 'wow got lucky' post. That is utter nonsense, and this isn't a discussion about WoW anyways. The point I am making is that it is insanely negative. All the games are rated about the same, equally bad, except the one that we don't know anything about. I assume in time, it will be plunged down to obscurity and mediocrity as well.
I don't base my rating of MMOs on how many subs they have. I also don't eat at MacDonalds despite what the masses do, nor do I buy Brittany Spears albums.
The real problem here is that YOU seem to be on the wrong forums.
Why you are so butt-hurt that we aren't all raving about Wildstar, another derivative theme park in a market full of them?
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

I could say the same to you. Why aren't you off playing one of the many sandbox games out there... Ohh wait, because they suck!

Poor kiddo. Don't worry, plenty of people will play Wildstar... for a few months.

Dude... TSW and Wildstar aren't even on the same hype meter. And no one is hyping anything down. You obviously don't know how the meter works. Wilstar is falling because people aren't going to the hype meter to hype it or rate it down. FFXIV is rising because people are playing the beta and going to the meter to hype it. EQN is king because its just came to this site to be hyped a few weeks ago and a lot of people are hoping it will be the mmo savior. I'm sure once aug. hits and people find out more about it, it will fall off a bit.

If they play a day that is more they they would play something like Xsyon or Wurm Online, which oddly enough even rate way below WoW and wildstar in this community.
The pure Sandbox genre has one foot in the grave, and the other is on wet grass. Everquest Next is the absolute last hope for the genre, assuming it even conforms to the insane criteria of the sandbox mmo gamers. I personally don't have much hope for the game if it is a pure sandbox style game. but I have serious doubts it will be. In my opinion it is likely a hybrid, like many games out there. As a hybrid it will probably be labeled as a just another themepark MMO by the pure sandbox gamers, but at least then it has a chance at success.
Since following Wildstar for several months now, i'm keen on checking in every (Wildstar) Wed to seek out any new information that gets released. I have found myself slightly disappointed when there isn't any new information( except for last week's UI customization) on any new races/classes/zones..you get the idea. On the flip side, it keeps my excitement growing for the game and I can only imagine how hard Carbine is working to make the game great for us.
Another thing to add in is that since there hasn't been too much recent news on the game, it became less relevant to the general populace of this forum. A lot which has been eclipsed by the upcoming reboot of Final Fantasy: ARR.
I'm sure there's plenty to be talked about in upcoming weeks/months when Carbine starts unraveling more information to us. Just keep the seat belt fastened and enjoy the ride. Things will come.

I'd take the time to explain why this is, but then that's not why you are here, is it? You are upset because you see some injustice in others on this site not being as excited as you are about Wildstar. FYI, I intend to try Wildstar myself, but I already know that I won't play it for very long. As a gamer, I am over the generally contrived story and setting of themepark games. If you aren't then good for you.
You seem to not understand the hype system, as was pointed out in a post above, nor have you spent enough time on this site understanding the ebb and flow of the community here. If you intend to stick around, you should learn that trying to force feed your view of the world on others doesn't work well with this crowd. If you want people who like Wildstar, then go find some Wildstar forums to hang out on where the numbers are in your psychological favor.

The chua has basically been confirmed as1 of the last 2 races. Dev let it slip in interview.
The other is likely some undead like dude, but there is no concrete info as of yet.
You can see the last 2 classes in demo games. One is a type of caster, and another is seen with a rifle. No official info exists, but other sources suggest maybe engineer and medic.
See this the type of things you can find out in a community that cares.
Ever wonder why? Because people who post here are so insanely negative! No one wants to hang out with a bunch of melodramatic goths, and the same applies here. There are tons of good communities out there discussing WIldstar, but not this one. That is why the mods never bother coming here to post, despite the site's huge rep.
I swear, I don't think most of the people here even like MMOs. If they do, it is only shitty sandbox games they say they want, but refuse to play. Then they act shocked when all the new MMOs are themepark.
Then again, what do you expect from a community that doesn't even put wow in the top 30 of MMOs. Yet, the Secret World is BEST, numero uno, amongst released games. ROFL! The #1 game of all time by far is the one in which almost no info at all exists. Interesting...

I would call you a troll, but it's obvious that you are no older than 18 and have never played anything other than WoW. Why should we be drooling over a game that has the same exact art style that Dragon's Lair did oh so many decades ago?
NEWS FLASH: WE DON"T HAVE TO LIKE THE SAME GAMES YOU DO!!!! I know that the WoW generation can't understand that, but I expect nothing less from a gamer that thinks the best game ever is a game that does everything but play for you. Ever hear of this guy named Vince Lombardi? He had a saying that is more true today than it ever was. "The only place SUCCESS comes before WORK is in the dictionary." In the world of MMOs, work isn't figuring out what to do while the game either downloads or installs; even though there are those out there that think it so.
Since Wildstar "claims" to be harder than WoW from what I've read (and that aint saying much since Go Fish can claim the same thing) I'd bet that most WoW fanbois will be jumping ship in droves if true.
I'd take the time to explain why this is, but then that's not why you are here, is it? Actually, I am like the ghost of christmas. I am here to tell you this community is toxic, and what the problem is. If you refuse to listen, and you don't want to change, then that is fine, but don't expect any sort of meaningful dialogue to take place here. Don't be shocked when this community is shunned by the devs. Don't complain about the endless stream of trolls that flock here. in fact, don't expect anything positive to manifest from this completely negative and toxic atmosphere.
On another note, It helps to fully read one's post. I will post it here for you to enjoy,

I admit, as small part of me hopes the game fails miserably, so the sandbox fanboys will go away. But I know that will never happen. They won't go away! They will just make some kind of excuse, like the hybrid example above, and then insist their immensely unpopular way is still the best.

I'm a big don't prejudge a game positively or negatively before you personally try it sort of guy as many here will probably attest.
But I find it hard myself not to prejudge this one after watching that E3 vidoe,it couldn't of looked and felt more like WoW in that video if it's final shot had been Wildstar...a World of Warcraft Expansion...coming soon.
Maybe it differentiates itself later on but man....
I'm saying this as someone who has friends that are interested in playing WIldstar and might be forced to play...damn peer pressure!

They will just make some kind of excuse, like the hybrid example above, and then insist their immensely unpopular way is still the best.
hahah... awesome.

Sorry, I think I came off the wrong way, so I did an edit.

hahaha awesome. (looking forward to your next edit ~ the irony is thick and sweet)

I am glad you enjoyed it. Maybe one day you will develop the analytical skills to fully appreciate what I posted there.
