Please show me one of these so called "WoW Clones". In the 9 years that have passed since World of Warcraft launched I see alot of people claim games are "WoW Clones" but no actual game that has more similarities than differences. Is WoW a benchmark that other MMO Developers use to create their games?
You're kidding right. There are games that copied WoW to the letter.

Allods Online for example.
And when, I say letter, I literally mean letter.
Or this one from China, called World of Fight:
Thats it? YOur only proof that these games are clones of WoW is similar font in their game titles? Thats not proof that these games are clones. I dont know about World of Fight, but I do know about Allods Online.

Allods Online Races(as of Current)

Allods Online Classes(also as of current) The main thing with Allods Classes is that while they have base classes each class is unique to the races what i list is the base classes. http://allods.gpotato.com/?m=game&a=class has the list of race specific classes
Warrior
Paladin
Scout
Healer
Warden
Mage
Summoner
Psionicisit
Even with these you see that the races and classes are different. The game play is different, the story is different, even the pvp is completely different. So no Allods is not a 'WoW Clone".
As for the a fore mentioned MMO's Runes of Magic and Forsaken Worlds. The main differences between Runes of Magic and WoW is the multi Classing that Runes of Magic allows. When first released it was only 2 classes, currently you can now have up to 3 classes. Forsaken World has a similar class structure to Allods Online where the races have unique classes. This is something WoW does NOT have. In WOW all races have the same classes. The only games that follow this pattern(that i have played) are Dungeons & Dragons(PnP and MMO), Everquest and Everquest 2. You people who see these games as "WoW Clones" need to have your eyes checked there are more differences than similarities.
Edit: Additional info for the Everquest 2 MMO: Classes in EQ2 while not dependent on Race they are dependent on Faction, with a unique feature that allows a player to betray their faction and join the opposite faction and change their class to that factions version. Example is if i take an Arasai Necromancer on the betrayal quest when I am finished with the quest Ill be an Arasai Conjuror.
"Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? If we kill people to protect ourselves and this future, then what sort of future is it, and what will we have become? There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?"

Same shit different skin. There are basically 2 main styles of games these days. WoW clone open world quest hubs. Cryptic styled or made games that are mass instanced quest hubs, follow the trial and go in doors for quest with City of Hero style action combat. The rest are random indie games of usually poor quality.
Well, that's a bad generalization but not far off lol.

WOW did not create the Open world quest hubs nice try at that tho. The only thing Blizzard did that was unique to WoW was make it so that the casual player could log in for 45 mins and get quests done. Asheron's Call which launched in 1999 was the first open world quest hub MMO. So by your limited commonality idealism WoW is an Asheron's Call Clone. The only thing in common with all the MMO's the other fools listed and WoW is that they are all fantasy type MMO's. That in itself does not make a game a clone. So you once again fail at pointing to "WoW Clones". Nice try at failing though.
