Like really really terrible. The first 20 minutes had to be the worst introduction to any game I think I've ever played in years. And then after that god-awful introduction you have to kill what? Squirrels.
The combat is horrendusly slow thanks to its 2.5 gcd, and the quest are laughable. I'm 100% sure this game will fail just like all the WoW themepark copy's (Warhammer, LOTRO, AOC, SWTOR) the only difference is this game has much less hype than those games did.
I really had alot of hope in this game and its first impressions just shot me to the ground. Archeage BETTER deliver.

I was pretty disappointed as well, i wasn't expecting much from the game at all, but with the previous iteration of it failing so much, and everything I've heard about this redeeming their last mistake .. Well.. I dont see how this'll do that.
It's pretty much the same MMO we keep getting, again.
But i guess It's not actually out yet, and we haven't seen much of the game, so perhaps it'll be fantastic a few days in.. Who knows... Very very much doubt it though.
I'll wait and see.
I completely agree. It is so true that the first 2 hours of this game are worst than any MMO we've seen in the last two years. I old the extremely LONG silent cut scenes which completely defeat any hope of immersion with the chat bubbles, ugly translation, etc. The worst thing any MMO can do is have you going from NPC to NPC sending them their mail while you're supposed to be some super natural hero.
That being said. This is our last hope for a solid MMO for the next few months so we need to get through this insulting awful introduction and see if there is anything in the world. Please, don't make me the mail man
Alright bye.
I still enjoy this game, and will continue to do so like I did with XI and XIV 1.23
That's funny, because both games you mention have quite a solid niche player base now and are doing well. Not every game that YOU think fails completely dies and this one won't either. It will level off and have a nice solid bunch of FF gamers who love the game, like myself.
At least they'll have a game they will enjoy, while you'll still be looking for your "perfect" mmo.
What are you even doing here then? Just like you said "can't wait to come back in a couple of weeks and read pitiful posts" ? Come back later if that's all you want.
I dont agree that the game is terible, I have alot of fun playing it.
But the game is like everything in life, some will love it, some will like it, some will hate it.
And if you feel the need to gloat when someone desides to quit the game and post about it.. then there problem is you.
This is not the last hope, WIldstar is out there still and trust me.. It WILL DELIEVER. Trust me...

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
blatant trolling and just whining sort of criticism, you have no valid points
i am in beta and have been for a while, and will say this game is awful, but atleast ill give valid reasons for why its awful. like having 1 % of the actual content of ffxi and the new "class" is a slapdash half effort from the development team, or the way the load times are with how everything is completely segmented and no open world.
but atleast i give reasons, you are just crying on the internet. dont expect this game to ever get fixed, this is just square trying to get back its development funds, they clearly dont expect this game to last more than a year
what a sad post....

I dunno about that.. imo FF xiv delivered too, atleast to me. I still do intent to play wildstar and know Ill atleast enjoy that for a while.
I know I havent enjoyed every mmo Ive bought or tried as much as the other, but I have yet to play one Ill regret buying.
I really wanted to like this game. Especially with the sub cost, because I wanted to support the monthly sub model.
Then I played it, and I have to agree it is the worst introduction to an MMO I've ever experienced. The length of the intro is so long, I just couldn't make it to even one combat before quitting (gave it about 20 mins before giving up).
The quests you do actually do are fetch quests and forced town exploration quests. 20+ mins and I never got to use an ability.
Astonishingly bad. 0/10 initial score, but I'll bump it to 2/10 for the detail in the player character models.
2.5 GCD? Really? Damn.
I haven't played FFXIV so I don't know how the combat is, but that is definitely a long GCD. Long GCD usually indicate slower paced action. /shrug
This game doesn't need hype. It's a Final Fantasy. Also it'll be launching on the Playstation.
What this game does do is weed out the gamers who would have no love for it. Just like every other title out there. It has its fans.
I'm sure those who rush through or don't take their time with it will most definitely not enjoy it. Just like any other Final Fantasy game, where skipping stories and other parts that help immerse you in the world would hurt your enjoyment of it.
I feel as though it's unlike other titles where you could play along and not have one iota of a clue what the hell is going on and not really care. As long as a certain Pavlovian condition is met. Loot that keeps being handed out as if it were falling from a piñata.
having a blast
There Is Always Hope!
Wildstar is a pipe dream WoW clone it brings nothing too the table accept player instanced housing
To the OP:
1. The first 20 minutes?? This game is going to fail, according to you, because of the first 20 minutes is lame so you say? Who cares about the first 20 minutes?
2. 2.5 global cooldown sucks? I think its great. I prefer this type of game play. I don't like twitch gaming. I will gladly pay 15 bucks a month for a game with 2.5 global cooldown. Less button mashing, more like a real role playing game. I know I'm shocked too, a game came out that is more like an rpg and less like a fps, oh wow its going to fail right?
Well I doubt it cuz there are lots of people that like the rpg in mmorpg and don't want it to be an action packed fps like yourself. So I don't think this game will fail or be terrible. And I don't mind paying 15 bucks a month if it keeps out the fps crowd.
Ah, it's not that bad. I actually think is does everything well except combat (that's a pretty huge deal though). It could use voiceovers a little more liberally too on the "main" quests.
But My conjurer has been using the same god damn two spells for 20 fucking levels. That's pretty shit design and there isn't any getting around it.
I'll never understand why people can't just let other people have fun.
