The Guild Wars division of Orto Sole was founded on 28 October 2004 by Droniac & Sagi. We quickly made it to the 13th place on the Guild Wars guildladder and managed to perform well throughout all Beta Weekend Events.
Now retail has arrived, and Orto Sole is still here (albeit with a load of changes, both to the roster & to our management), recruiting new member looking for a fun Guild to join which also aims for a high place in the GvG ranking and some good Tomb of Primeval Kings PvP matches!
As a Guild we're interested in everything Guild Wars has to offer, we're not locking ourselves down to just playing PvP, we want to experience some of the PvE and perhaps some RP goodness as well!

Orto Sole goals & plans!
# Become a close group of friends, geared towards having fun and meeting new people.
# Become a top-level Guild in PvP & GvG.
# Aid the community (by releasing movies & fan-art, providing articles & guides and having interviews with prime Guilds and other prime figures in Guild Wars society - most of this will come along with the new design for the website, in a few months likely ;p)
# Become a wellknown Guild, through aiding people new to the game, holding the Hall of Heroes, attaining a high rank on the GvG ladder, remaining friendly and respectful at all times & generally being a nice Guild to be a member of or to just hang around with.
# Help promote Guild Wars, mainly through the production of more high quality Guild Wars movies.

Orto Sole produced Media
We've released three movies:

And we organised a trivia contest for #guildwars.trading together with batez from Dynasty Warriors, prior to the final Beta Weekend Event.

What's different about Orto Sole?
*We're lead by experienced clanleaders, whom have lead highly succesful clans together before (such as the Dutch Jedi Masters (not a very creative name, yeah) for Jedi Academy: Siege)
*We don't use some extensive democratic or political system to lead the Guild, we simply have a load of people performing specific functions (e.g.: newsposters) and have a leader & co-leader who can oversee things and will intervene when necesary. There's also a squad system in place, which you can read a bit about below. Certain decisions (such as cape-design or what hall to take) are mostly done through votes amongst guildmembers, majority wins .
*We have our own movie-maker, who helps promote not only the Guild but also Guild Wars itself by spreading these movies amongst highly visited gamesites.
*We are well-organised with an active private forum and our own IRC channel to chat ;p

Squads
Orto Sole is dividied into several squads, lead by core members of our Guild.
These squads are not ment to divide the Guild, they're merely ment to make it easier to control the Guild. The leaders of these squads will take on certain responsibilities, to help out the Guild as a whole.
Squads will not be mini-Guilds within the Guild, they'll function merely as organisational units. More information can be found in the stickied post on the Announcement board at our forum.
