I'm a dumbass.  Am I the only one who did the following?

I goofed up my own FFXIV account.   My first FFXIV service account was created weeks ago and used for beta4 and early access - so that is where my characters are, which are now unavailable - no service registered.

/doh!

So I got a new key 3 days ago.. the real game key.  As I often do.. I screwed the pooch.  It seems I mistakenly put my CE code on a new/second service account.   I know its my fault - but I can't change the fact that I did not see the option to add "platform" until it was too late... all I originally saw was the "add service account" button big as day right beside my characters name.

So, the second service account is active, but there are not any characters on that service and I can't create a new character on it because I submitted the support form specifically for this goof to have the issue resolved with Square.  (They sent an email saying it would be resolved in 48hrs!) - 3 days ago..  :(

The icing on this poop cake is I can't buy a second copy of the game, which I happily would, because they are not selling digital copies of the game at the present...

/sigh

And I really, really like this game... (when I can log in!!!)

many people did many mistakes in the SE accounting system and it is not stupid, their support sux. but Iv read in the forums many of which called/chat with SE support and got their accounts merged and what not. they do not give you ETA, but they will tell you they will work on it and you will be notified by email.

Don't feel bad, this game is really good but their whole account management system is hands down the most convoluted piece of **** I have ever seen.

None of their sites are fully linked , the store is disconnected from your main SE account , they are using another site to process your purchases, there was an early access site up for awhile and another site that supposedly hooks them all together but doesn't.  Its a bloody mess, someone over there needs to be replaced and the whole system rebuilt and integrated together.

    Its embarrassing.

I checked all of my local stores for boxed versions of FFXIV for PC... there are none with 90miles!  There is one Gamestop local to me that has a few boxed copies of PS3 - but big squat that does for me.

I hope they get my account Square'd up soon... sux not being able to not login and try to play.  :p

On the plus side they do seem to realize how much their setup sucks because the new "Mog Station" looks like a more centralized traditional version of MMO account management.

On the official forums - there is a 320 page thread discussing the very same issue I had.

About the last 30 pages folks are stating that Square Enix closed there "48 Hour" tickets with resolution, instead sending another email stating how busy they were and were sorry that could not help them at this time.  This issue has affected an estimated 15,000 people based on the tickets submitted via the form they created to help resolve this specific issue.

I've got about 2 weeks worth of game time invested in my "service 1" account characters.  I'm not going to wait around while these bumbling fools try to fix this clusterfnck.

Looks like I will just buy another copy of the game as soon as I can and apply that code to my original account.  I'll gladly pay another $30 for another copy than eat two weeks of game play...

Yep... Another example of SE dropping the ball with this. I opened a support ticket, was given the "48 Hour" thing (regarding EA items), and now... 4 days later... Ticket's closed with no solution. Awesome.

    Just lol.
