So am I the only one who has an issue with the rampant account theft? I have no viruses, trojans, or backdoors. This game is truly a good game but who wants to commit to something they are just going to lose a short time later? When you get a hold of the people who control the game, their response goes something similar to this; "I am sorry it is not in our policy to recover your lost data." No matter how good a game is its tough to start from scratch every time they have a leak somewhere, or their name is so unknown they do not feel it is huge to have that reputation take a hit.

I've never had a problem with it, but I agree that they should offer a hardware security key like most other game do. Especially since you pay real money for things, it would be nice to be able to secure the things you have purchase.
Its the D2 sequel for older players and a game that focuses you to play, rather than slacking in some AH trying to make money or gold.
If you played D3 as an auction house game, then that's on you. The AH was, and will be until its closure, completely optional. Blizzard didn't force you or anyone else to use it, they just wanted to provide a safe way for people to exchange goods without the trouble & risk of having to do so 'face to face', so to speak.
Sorry, that's just a pet peeve of mine. D3 has its faults, but the AH isn't one of them unless you allow it to become one.
Anyway, as for PoE, maybe I'll give it a try while waiting for the D3 expansion. Well, if I can tear myself away from FFXIV & Ascend: Hand of Kul that is.
Except they gimped loot rates in order to encourage the AH.
+1
No, they didn't. There is absolutely no proof of this claim, and anecdotal evidence from people without the mindless bias based on irrational hatred, along with my own experiences with the game, have proven quite the contrary.
they have a system in place already that if someone is trying to log into ur account from a different ip the account is temporarily disabled until u validate it again so if ppl are getting hacked still is means their machine is compromised by some other means not through them
