Is it me or does this seem a lot like a better looking a bit more in depth mine craft. Granted the two are pretty different games, but still very comparable. Comments?

This is the video that made me think this.

Yes actually. A boulder to be precise.

Actually it is like Mincraft. The devs have said so.

"In Minecraft you would see this movement, where you build with cubes," he said. "We wanted to go further." Georgeson

The frontpage article even says it:

"Just like Minecraft, there is something fun about building your own world and living in it as well."

I think it could be said that one of Minecraft's charms is the low barrier to entry.  If they make Landmark to complicated they could end up cutting off a huge audience who just walks away from the game before figuring out how it works.

The answer is maybe~. They haven't given us a lot of information yet. The basic core gameplay will be much like a minecraft game but apparently you can add mobs and AI to it and create content in ways you can't in minecraft. How much you can do with it is completely unknown at this time.

    Higher resolution?  YES

Higher quality?  Not likely given all the player made mods in Minecraft.

Very fair point, but I've seen the building tools demoed in the Voxel Farm videos and they are VERY user friendly.  So I think there's every reason to think Landmark won't mess that up.

    minecraft on steroids .

this could be a great game .  the main problem with minecraft is that when you first started a game of survival it was quite fun getting set up but eventually you had all the resources you would ever need and built everything you could imagine .  Pretty much game over at that point .

Wonder how they will solve that end game problem with EQN ...

    Fantastic topic.

What I want to see is monsters attracted by your level of lavishness.

ie, if you have "tier 5" diamond towers, you're going to attract "teir 5" Frost Giants bent on recycling your house.

I also really want to see the functional aspect of house design matter for some reason.  ie, some strongholds are more durable than others due to construction, others provide better XP regeneration during meditation, etc.

The only thing I'm concerned with is some form of combat at the beginning.  My mind has been spinning with ideas as far as what to build but it would be nice to go out exploring and at least have some form of mobs to beat on.

I was surprised at the info shown in this site's interview:

    http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setView/videos/gameID/982/videoId/3303

In the background you can get an idea about how the tools will work.  Great stuff.
