Have to say I been back and forth over this game - on whether I was going to like it, or not. They almost lost me when they said it would also ship on the consoles. They brought me back when they asked Maluhka to sing her bard's songs in game... she is a class act.
It seems we've all been burned by piss-poor MMO's over the last few years. I for one have grown tired of getting my hopes up and having them dashed again by yet another failed or limp MMO. I both loved and hated World of Warcraft... it set the bar so high subscription wise - but set the bar so low skill play wise. At any rate, Wow died for me after Burning Crusade. Damn you WoW.
There have been many MMO launches since WoW launched in 2004, and many were thought to be the one to surpass it... but does it really matter>? I think not. I'd just like to see an MMO launch that did not fail within the first year. I like to play an MMO that keeps me interested and wanting to login time after time. I could care less if it surpasses WoW's numbers... I just would like to see one positive success for a new MMO - both subscription wise and monetarily.
I enjoyed my first day playing yesterday. It was a solid launch experience for me. I actually had fun and had a few "Wow that's cool" moments. I don't know if ESO will be the one... but I do know I'm ready for it to be the one. That is, I hope the game manages to keep growing and growing. I think they have a nice starting point and the IP/Elder Scrolls certainly has the fan base to allow it to happen.
I rolled a toon and joined the Aldmeri Dominion... here's to hoping this is the one - long live the Queen!!!

Cheers !
For King and Covenant !
I haven't been burned by MMOs in recent years. But I'm also not expecting them to be anything more than what the devs say they are, and I don't sweat the small stuff.
I have played many an MMO over the years, I haven't found the perfect game. I had issues with each one I've played, but that didn't kill the experience for me. If all of your desires for a game are 100% must have features or else it sucks, you will be disappointed forever.
I hope you can find a game you enjoy. And just to note, VERY few games die before 1 year.

I hear ya. Been back and forth for months over what to do with this one. Decided a few minutes ago to drop 60 for regular edition and give it a month. Hoping for the best and expecting the worst while patching up client
I miss DAoC
Is this game B2P one time or does it have some monthly fee attached to being able to play???
Just wondering because of the higher cost for the retail version at $60???
As far as being the one?? meh I watched a ton of games come and go for years there won't be the one ever.
Just the next one in the line of ones......and of course zero's!! 1111000110101010101
