Russian Early Access vs Trions Founder pack.

Jonas_SGJonas_SG Member UncommonPosts: 475

Just wanted to remind players when Russia got AA what were the prices like:

Russian Early Access pack:

  • Access to CBT ( Closed Beta Test )
  • 40-day Sub.
  • 6 Days early Access to the game.
  • Title "Pioneer" +1 to all stats
  • Cloak " Pioneer "  + 1 to all stats.
  • 1x reagent to put your own crest in game.
  • 5x indelible ink
  • 3x Collectable coins.

Total Price = 600 rubles = 17 $

Price for 1 month Sub = 300 rubles = 8,3 $

Price for 3 Month Sub = 800 Rubles = 22,22 $

Trions Founder pack:

 SILVER - $49.99

  • Beta Access
  • 2,500 Credits ($20 Value)
  • 4-Day Patron Head Start
  • Title: "Founder"
  • 30-Day Patron Status
  • Experimental Glider

Compared to Russian: $49.99 - $20 (credits) = $29.99

For extra $13  you get a Glider but  lose 10 Days on your sub, you do not get a Cloak of " Pioneer ", you do not get 1x reagent, 5x Ink and 3 Collectable Coins.

I'd say Trion  need to rethink there founder packs and add some more stuff to them.

While agree its bit high currently you cannot compair a russian dev with a us /eu one overal their are way more poor ppl in Russia yeh i know their are alot loads of rich ppl tho overal a poor russian has way less than somebody that has low income in eu/us .

And as far as i can see, they're both completly optional. It's like buying a single player's collectors edition and in one country they give you a cool statue, and in another they give you not so cool statue.

So, unless those items give an unreacheable boost to players, (and that's an actual question on my part), meh.

I'm more concerned with what the OP said about labor points. Don't want to see any massive advantages.

I think one thing that you have to take into account: It's priced for Russian's, not western European's and North Americans. The average Russian income is about 30,000 rubles a month, so it's not cheap for them.

They could deffinatly add much more stuff to their Founder packs, i just don't think they look interesting at all.

I think you are thinking about Ukrain.   An average income in Russia is 27000 rubels.

Actually I mistook the monthly salary for a yearly salary. It works out to about 3-4 hours of labor to make the 600 rubles.

Whether you are from EU, USA or the MOON, you could still buy and pay for it Russian prices.

  • PsistormPsistorm Member UncommonPosts: 46

Sure, you COULD pay for russian prices. The thing is though, that these russian prices are targeted at the russian demographic, who, by and large, doesn't have as much disposable income, so the prices have to be lower in order to accomodate this and generate sales.

In other countries, you can simply charge more, but also have to, because not only are the incomes higher, but your running costs will also be higher, proportionally.

Forgive me for saying , but are not Russian games always cheaper ? I thought it was the general consensus, especially on Steam.

You can buy it and play it on the Russian servers if it really bothers you. WoW is a lot cheaper in China too. That never bothered me though because I didnt want to play on Chinese servers.

    go play Russian server  then

i hate to say it but this post is kinda dumb.

Even if the exchange is right, the money value is different.

I can buy a big mac for about 2$ dollar in russia.  Go tell the McD near you that they should use the same price as Russian  McD too.

But you can't buy Russian Big Mac while beeing in NY USA, but you could Archeage RU. That's the difference, it was the same product accesseble for lower price.

And go play the Russian game if you want , but good luck with TeamSpeak ... lol :p

Or you could just get it for free in Japan and not pay a thing. Game has been out for a while now and currently still has a decent amount of people playing.

I agree, the current Trion packs are very unfaire since they are forcing players to buy Cash shop credit in order to get in a headstart.

Never knew Trion could be so Evil. It's almost they are the Next EA.

Oh yeah so seriously Evil .... perhaps they get people to sign over their souls too ... sigh , overreact much ?

I can not believe the ammount of people that defend the price for digital trinkets.

150$ and you are not getting your monies worth, plain and simple.

11,500 credits you can just buy for the 75$.

The 3 months sub isnt 45$ (3x15$), its 14x3 = which is 42$. Longer sub = lower monthly cost.

The glider is mediocre at best and anyone can get one by level 10-15.

The armor outfit, not really important, as there will be tons of sets of costumes.

The cloak, +3 to stats. But how long will that last? Normally you replace these items pretty fast.

A title. which "trialblazer" seems pretty poor name for a high roller paying 150$.

6 boxes........... 6 boxes with .001% to get a mount, and usually offers garbage (see Rift).

None of this 150$ founders pack is worth the 150$.

I can pay 75$ for the credits, and 42$ for the 3 month sub and still get the rest of those items in game. And wont even pay close to what you did. Especially when they have sales on coins/credits and cheaper yearly subscription (Rift 12 months = 99$).

Should have been more worthwhile items in for 150. Like free home, lower rent items, something to help regen labour points faster or have more, extra bag space, personal banker, fast mount, etc that would actually help your game. THis is why its bad to just throw money at companies trying to milk you.

And I cn almost guarantee you there will be some beta or pre-launch packages with much better stuff in them. Seems thats the way of companies lately. Charge a lot for nothing, then come up new packages with more crap in them to try to get even more money, in the long run screw over the 150$ guys. And often cheaper than the original price.  Have seen this happen in a lot of games lately.

NO!! that silver pack is pure scam but gold and archenum(or whatever that is) packs are perfectly fine and are great value for money.

Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.

Um no you dont, none of those trinkets help you in the slightest past level 10 lol. Its by far cheper to just buy the credits and pay for a 3 month sub. None of those items you get help you long term and majority of them are replaced by level 10 including gliders.

Russia is a very poor country by western standards so you can't squeeze blood from a stone.
  • JayFiveAliveJayFiveAlive Member UncommonPosts: 601

I imagine these are the same people that get really upset at collectors edition stuff. Those are not for everyone. You don't have to buy anything! The game is F2P. Pay what you want - that's the whole point.

Comparing Russia prices to US prices is just... really really stupid. Do you complain that in Thailand you can get a huge meal for like $2 but in the US the same meal would probably cost $10?? How do you even sleep at night haha.

    Why?

Disposable income is much lower for an average Russian gamer.

As long as they were both available for purchase Russian pack was much cheaper then Trions pack. The game is the same.

    /facepalm

The game will be FREE to play, oh so evil, so unfair.

Do you honestly not see the absurdity in your post?

Since you obviolsy didn't payed enough attention when you played  the game, Headstart is the key in this game, else you would have known that.

Since F2P doesn't offer a headstart, you are forced to pick one of the founder packs to get a fair chance at placing farms in the best spots, and racing to 50 to become dominant guild on the server.

So forcing on to  players a Cash shop credit while offering a Headstart is Evil, and it is unnesseserely. It is something a money grab companies like EA would do.

I always though of Trion better then the way they are handling ArcheAge so far.

Heh, what really silly, is comparing Real Life merchandise, which requres you to physicly move to another country, with Internet Merchandise, which you can buy with a credit card while sitting at home.
