very doable and remember soe made that xpac in 2003/2004
tbh a lot we can learn from swg but sadly most developers shy from swg as reference due to its demise.
But factors that limited it was not actually its design per say but
been star wars.means all focus went on jedi and rest great designs poorly acknowledged .lucas arts restriction did not help neither !
released in 2003 ,hard on the hardware then and really niche mmo crowd back then it would explode 2 years later.guess you can say a bit ahead of its time!
But yes, should be doable and looking for games that adopt some of the great features of SWG
I was a shipwright on Naritus ("Aratech") and later on the Europe-Chimaera server. Crafted many many of these ships and was invited to quite a few of them for parties, multi-crew sorties, roleplaying boarding actions or just fooling around. Most of them had interior decorations (many of which i crafted too as an architect).
I see a lot of similarities between space PvP in Star Citizen and in SWG. The same jousting technique - head on close range alpha strikes, followed by evasive maneuvers to avoid parting shots into weakened rear shields by a "turreting" enemy.
With a skilled co-pilot that knows his shield management and droid commands, you could do A LOT in SWG. I expect the same in SC.
With the YT-1300 ... if you knew how to fly (NOT trying to score hits yourself), you allowed your two gunners to hit the same enemy along the "Glory Road" .... the equatorial belt were both turrets had overlapping fields of fire.
Comments
keep buying $600 concept art and they might do it better than SOE...... or maybe not.
Launch will determine if it will be a good game. Im hypeless and im happier that way.

Have fun
Every ship I have purchased is flyable in the AC, so it's beyond concept art. Well, except the Retaliator I just purchased.
