I love ESO and get a good laugh at people who talk about it now coming out of Beta or things that should have been in at launch...It's an MMO, it will never be a finished game.  I could say the same thing about WoW, a game I've played since launch as well.  Garrisons should have been in at launch.  WoW must also just be coming out of Beta yay!

ESO is the best MMO out right now, especially for roleplayers, and I've enjoyed every second in it.  Even with WoD just coming out, I find myself only playing WoW to do daily stuff in my Garrison, LFR weekly, and Raid nights.  Other than those three things, I find myself playing ESO.

I just... can't ... get past... the TERRIBLE animations this game has. The animations are such low quality they just ruin any chance at immersion provided by everything else that's done semi-well.

It's a shame. It really is. I want so much to like this game, but those animations... yuck!

I stopped playing this game. Can't play as a necromancer, can't summon skeletons and other type of undead minions, plus every player is a battle mage since it forces the player to use magicka-based spells. /back to Skyrim again

They do have a history of game breaking updates. They also have a history of not listening to their testers and of putting stuff out sometimes without running it through testing at all.  They also have a history of focusing on the next update before completing fixes from past updates.  If it wasn't for these things saying an update, especially a major update will fix things is a wait and see venture.  To be fair their not the only MMO's who do this.

The game is good, its quality and its getting a lot of investment, whining about the past is self defeating glass half empty crap that you would expect from children.

    This exactly.

After some hiccups in beta I opted to wait it out until just a few weeks ago. Its not perfect but in terms of story/quest immersion i have yet to play a better MMO. The writing, voice acting and NPC AI is really inspiring.

With the Champion/Justice update incoming this game should get a lot better. If not, ill take a break and find another game to enjoy.

The game is improving and that's the nature of mmos. And that's great. For instance, the game is more responsive since the opening of the EU megaserver. They're continuing to improve the game content and performance wise. The only thing that keeps me at fence with ESO, and I guess it's a matter of taste, is that they give you a very personal experience of the world that doesn't encourage you to share adventures with others. Also, the dynamic content, quests poping all over tend to lead you too much from an activity into another, at the end they don't let you explore the world at you leisure.

I initially thought I'd be playing for years.

But too many bugs, too much lag in PvP. Their update cycle meaning that often parts of the game were broken after an update, took a few weeks to fix, only to get broken again at the next update (mainly PvP issues for me)

I belonged to a guild of about 50 members, when many people were complaining on the OF, we were all playing and having great fun.

But sadly getting kicked to desktop or getting unplayable lag night after night in Cyrodiil, wore my guild down.

We were patient at first, then more and more of us would log off for the night due to lag etc making our enjoyment impossible.

Now almost the entire guild has stopped playing. I do want to come back when it's playable, but
I don't see why I should pay to see if this is now the case.

They should give a free weekend every couple of months or so, so that those that previous players can see how well it works for them and how the improvements fair. If PvP lag etc is fixed and end game is better, doing this would get many people to re sub. But feeling like I paid to beta test, there's no way I'm paying more to see if it's now fixed.

This was on the EU, entire guild having same problems regardless of who was grouped with who, what the PC specs or ISP we used etc, biggest problems started when they moved EU server to EU, they never fixed those problems then did a major update a few days later.

And as we no longer play, we can't ask questions in official forums.

I would be back in a heartbeat if I could be sure these issues were fixed but I regularly read the OF and see the same old complaints about PvP lag.

Just looked in their customer support section and the first and 3rd threads are about lag. Again it could be fixed for me, but why should I pay only to possibly find out it isn't.

With regards to the previous posts about quests completing, I soloed most nights doing PvE (except for group dungeons) before grouping later for some PvP, and I can remember what felt like a lot of times where the story line was ruined due to quests completing when I hadn't done a thing, I wasn't in a party with these people, and yes when your following the law and story it does really ruin it for you.

I maxed out a character and quit.

I've already created an alt, but I'm waiting until the end of January to start playing again.

My friend quit because we kept getting split into different instances all the time.

If it works better I'll try and get him to give it another try.

So what? Paying for a game one likes is not a crime, is it? With a monthly sub ESO has a nice community and even general chat is readable. Maybe it's time for you to stop dropping this line in most ESO thread?

Play a MMO that's just come out or one that's had a solid year of development. Your choice.

the story is good, pvp is good but not enough dynamic content, no pvp immune to allow you to explore cyrodil like for 2hours. Ihave a vet 14 since a long time ago but endgame is a little boring i'll comeback when they'll add new solo zone
  • Dreamo84Dreamo84 Member UncommonPosts: 3,713
Chat bubbles are important becuse without them it is exceedingly difficult to notice when someone near you is communicating with you. With all the chat channels and info in your chat box it gets lost in the shuffle.

Not to mention it's more immersive for role players. But it makes communicating with strangers easier in general.

Unfair advantage? What exactly stopped Turbine from promoting the competition as well? Why would a game developer not want to put something in there?!

Christ, its a damn voting competition on a gaming website.

That bit, I agree with. The Daedric invasions at both the Dark Anchors and the random Dark Fissures that were added later on are really under-developed and nothing like what we wanted them to be - especially if you watched the trailers and assumed they'd be bigger and more dynamic.

Anchors shouldn't be static events on a timer always at the same location with daedra worshipers who are content to just stay there for hours if necessary waiting for someone to come kill them so the invasion can begin-- and I use the word "invasion" in the loosest sense since all these daedra do is spawn and stay leashed to a tight circle around the spawn.

They have the potential to be long duration events with ever increasing numbers of daedra who leave the area and attack towns forcing a large (community building) response from the players. Heck, Rift did it much better 4 years ago.

It should also happen frequently and in an even larger scale in Cyrodiil. There is nothing more fun than having a large dynamic PVE event in the middle of a PVP zone.

I think they blew that one.

I still insist that there should be World Boss invasions of towns and keeps in Cyrodiil.  I could just imagine out in Cyrodiil, you think that you're stomping the other two factions, then all of a sudden a 100 foot Storm Atronach and a bunch of minions start attacking one of your keeps and it's all hands on deck to repel them :D

Or a huge Dremora army invades Auridon killing the helpless NPCs and nooblets.  Only the call of a veteran army can repel them.  They rush headlong into the fray yelling "For The Queen!"

And to entice players to actually help, the boss drops the phat lewts from dungeons based on your level :D

Anchors should be more like they are in Rift.  The bad guys actually move around the area and follow roads.  It would be nice to see anchors forming at random locations and next to major cities.
