Wow, those are some bad reviews on Steam...

I just popped on steam to check out H1Z1, and most likely purchase the game to check it out. But, I noticed it said "mixed" reviews. So, I started reading some of the reviews, and boy are the majority of these (former) players mad at these game developers.

Apparently, the head honcho, John Smedley not only misled his potential gaming customers, but he got a bit nasty and frankly immature with his response to the bad reviews.  I got this from one of the many angry reviews:

Smedley also spoke out on the community’s response:

"If you think it’s P2W don’t buy it. Don’t play it. But I have to say wait until you’ve personally tried them before making the call."

=====The president of sony==== word for word. He wants us all to spend 2.50 and " try " the air drop out for ourselves and he asures us it isn't pay 2 win.

This guy is going to lose a ton of potential sales all by himself. Not a very good business man if you ask me.  They certainly stopped me right in my tracks from buying this game. .

You don't need 300,000 loyal customers producing steady revenue. You just need a couple million one offs and call it a day.

No one in the history of Ever has accused Smedley of being terribly market savvy.

This is why publishers should wait, instead of offering an unfinished product as "early access".  The negativity isn't worth the costs for a short term gain.  Ironically, it gives players a preview of what to expect now, since the "it's alpha/beta" argument doesn't hold anymore, for veterans of the genre anyway.
