Another post excusing criminal behavior. Why am i not surprised though? Stop blaming the victims, and stop referring to him as a child, when he's obviously a teen. They get away with this stuff because of people like you.
Criminal behavior? Get a grip.
In any case he is a child, teens are not adults and are not treated as such before the courts. He was brought before the court in his country tried and sentenced by that court. None of which I protest, proportional punishment as imposed by the court.
Secondly I am not blaming the victims: Smedley and his family. I am blaming the institutions that have failed to put in place systems appropriate to the internet age that would filter out the actions of children rather than amplifying their acts into real harm.
Doxxing? Criminal offense. Swatting? Criminal offense. Wire fraud (false credit checks)? Criminal offense. Bomb threats? Criminal offense. So yes, Lizard Tards apologist, criminal behavior. Anyone who thinks a two year suspended sentence for FIFTY THOUSAND COUNTS of assorted cybercrimes is "justice served" is either a Lizarf Squad jock rider, or someone who dislikes Smed enough to make excuses. PS: in most countries now, you are charged as an adult at 16. The fact that you think somehow, 17 = child and 18 =adult is laughable. Like sometime that year, they suddenly learn right from wrong, like a heavenly epiphany.
DOXING please cite the relevant statute and legal precedent for this being a "criminal" offense, also make sure that you cite the law for the country in which the offense is alleged to have occurred
SWATTING again please cite the relevant statute in the jurisdiction where the alleged offense is said to have occurred and BTW how did the Police Department fail to realize it was a hoax the first time, and why did they continue to make this same mistake over and over again.
Bomb threat, not bomb threats. As I have said elsewhere this one is yet to be heard by the courts. Also why did the relevant people not realize something was amiss with an international call about a domestic flight?
Finally it is not up to me or your to sentence someone, that is done by the judge.
I do not excuse the behavior of these children, I expect them to be punished for their behavior. BUT I do not condone the actions of a large number of adults who amplified the actions of these children and turned them into much larger incidents. NOR do I expect them to be punished for the final impact of their actions without the adults sharing the blame.
Are you being willfully obtuse, or are you just dumb as a box of rocks? Doxing is releasing sensitive, personal information out for everyone to view. That is ILLEGAL. Making false reports to police agencies is ILLEGAL. Calling in bomb threats ANYWHERE is ILLEGAL. You are obviously a Lizard Squad jock rider, coming up with the dumbest excuses ever heard to deflect blame from a criminal.

SO you have no basis for your opinion that these matters are in fact illegal in the jurisdiction where the alleged offense is said to have occurred. You also seem to have the belief that if someone sells you the Brooklyn bridge it is their fault and not your stupidity that is the problem.
You seem to think that the police have no responsibility to ensure that their actions are proportionate to the threat and should make no consideration of the source of the information.
Again, I do not condone the actions of the children involved. They deserve to be held accountable for the actions they performed. But others need to be held responsible for their actions.

That's all well and good, but you literally listed off things this "child" admitted to doing and said he didn't because he was a child. It's a debate tactic of the small minded called "talking in circles". It's idiotic. Did those two not kill a two year old? They were children, after all...

Yeah, no. Nice strawman. You are quite literally admitting that it's the victim's fault. You spent three posts earlier proclaiming how this guy didn't do all of the things HE, HIMSELF, ADMITTED TO AND PLED GUILTY OF. Your reason? "He's a child". You then claim there is no basis in law, DESPITE HIM BEING CHARGED WITH A CRIME FOR THINGS YOU INSIST AREN'T. You see how stupid that is, right? It's like riding on a train while insisting trains don't exist. But we get it. After all, you think it's just a case of "boys will be boys"....umyou know, with a multimillion dollar price tag and an entire family being terrorized.

Lets try this on for size "a bomb threat gets called in for a plane that happens to be carrying your entire family, the officer decides this is a prank call and blows it off, 20 minutes later the plane explodes mid flight, crashing to the ground only it happens to be over Chicago where it starts to break apart and the pieces fall directly into Wrigley field durring the home opener killing thousands as well as your family. Arent you glad you let some officer decide if thought it was real or fake? All bomb threat are treated equally. There is absolutely no way to tell if the threat is real or not. It's just like pulling a fire alarm at a school, the fire department shows up no matter what. You see now why your argument to blame some random adult is just idiotic?
All of you are talking about he is a kid and therefor should not be judged as hard etc. bla bla bla
I think most of you forget one simple thing, if the crime is big enough, he can be tried as an adult in the U.S and i'm pretty sure the U.S is going to seek extradition as he committed all of these offences against people of the U.S, not sure their just gonna sit back and let some pathetic court in Finland give him that lenient shit they did.
I have no love for Smedley, check my signature.
But lets all remember, Smedley wasn't the only one on that plane that got forced down to the ground, the people who got swatted had nothing to do with Smedley, the kid should get extradited to the U.S and face 25 to life in a federal super max, along with all of his buddies he would name, because trust me, this kid would piss his pants if he got extradited and sitting infront of a couple of FBI agents and other agencies that can stick him in a deep black hole.
Originally posted by moonbound Well the kid sounds pretty disturbed however it does not change the fact that I think daybreak is a bad and greedy company and will only get worse over time, to me they are just another soe, now I really do not know what happened with the ceo maybe the kid hacked his emails and saw what kind of greedy person he was or something or assumed because of cuts maybe? But that kid is probably no better. Whatever he did to the ceo was probably undeserved regardless.
It's Smedley, he deserved it.
You are an idiot. Grow up.
I am quite grown up. When you have a history of destroying games, bashing people publicly who disagree with you, and firing all your employee's while you keep your job, then you get what you deserve. Smedley, is reaping what he has sown for so many years.
You are in no way "very grown up" if you think being kind of douchey means people should be able to dump your personal info online, call the SWAT team to your house, ruin your credit score, and grounding a plane that you're on with a bomb threat. That has all the markings of a child that is throwing a tantrum. These script kiddies can see the sun setting on their idiocy. The FBI is now building a case because of the bomb threat and claims of affiliation with ISIS. Just the bomb threat carries a 50 year MINIMUM federal prison sentence. Jokes about ISIS can land you in a kennel cage at Gitmo. It's now only a matter of time. I would almost guarantee this kid who got caught rolled over on his buddies. He was charged with FIFTY THOUSAND seperate cybercrimes charges. Getting off with no time means he sung like a canary. I hope being a douchenozzle for the sake of being a douchenozzle was worth it.....
He don't need to sing, its Finland , all nordic countries have pathetic justice systems, you can kill an entire family and get off with our life sentence which means 16 years, a guy in Denmark where i come from, killed 4 cops, he got out after 30 years.
Thats the longest someone has ever sat in prison for in Denmark, even Anders Breivik who killed all those people in Norway sits in a luxury of a prison right now, his own little private wing with fitness room, living room and what not.
Obviously you don't have a clue about our pathetic justice system in the nordic countries and thats quite okay, the judge was lenient on him because he is a kid, i however believe he should be extradited to the U.S and they could stick him in Gitmo or stick him in a federal super max for 25 to life, and while their at it they could torture him for information, fry his little brain, make sure it wont work no more.
I have absolutely no respect for terrorism of any kind.
That's the problem with the EU legal system. In the end with that kind of justice I see it turning into an international incident. I wonder how much of the credit card information that he stole were from outside Finland. I would recommend looking into U.N. sanctions against Finland for supporting terrorists.

The crimes still happened and still need to be dealt with by the courts. The punishments will vary. That is if the court determines that crimes were comited. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_James_Bulger.
