I wasn't really impressed with any of the games on the list other than WoW and I stopped that one years ago....I liked the complexity of Eve but sitting in a spaceship and point and click play just aren't my thing..... Tried RS3 and within 5 minutes kept ending up in areas where it said you had to pay to enter so no thanks.
I only played Ragnarok online. I watched my daughter playing LOTRO and thought it beautiful. I remembered the books while looking how she played, felt the world of Tolkien. I was very impressed, it looked like the ideal escape.
Not a big year for me on mmo's, I admit I'm pretty bored of the formula and I'm looking more for cooperative experiences with people I know, rather than random party-poopers.
Did play some WoW at the beginning of the year because of nostalgia, and bought the GW2 expansion just because, but I think I'm giving up on the genre for good in this 2016.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
Rift I played at release but didn't like the changes. I also really hated the art design.
ArcheAge played at release but it looked like I was going to have to invest time into crafting and that killed it for me.
EVE Online I've tried several times but I just can't get into it.
SWTOR I currently sub to this game.
LOTRO I've played a lot of this but I'm not happy overall with where they went with this game. Helm's Deep was a HUGE disappointment and I still have issues with the mounted combat as I slide all over the place.
Runescape 3 I never played this.
ESO I am currently playing this. Started at launch but I couldn't stand my character's look and since Zenimax didn't release an appearance change store option I deleted my character and started again.
FFXIV I really want to like this game but haven't been able to stick with it.
WoW I've tried several times but I just can't stand it.
GW2 I like a lot about GW2 but I never feel the need to play it for a long time.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
i have played all but FF (never been a fan of the series and i wont comment on it)
my favorite MMO right now is ESO although i am no longer a hardcore pve raid grinder so i can see how those people would not like the end game ESO has to offer. IMO by far the most under-rated MMO out there. it still gets hated on by people who have not played it since beta which is unfair.
wow i can't play anymore, literally hundreds of days played in that game.
EVE is too much of a time sink for me
GW2 is a snorefest for me for some reason, i like the art style and graphics though. i will say the story mode is absolute trash compared to other mmo's and one of the reasons i don't like it.
tried runescape, not for me.
love SWTOR but can't play it anymore after playing ESO, it just feels too clunky and the combat just doesn't compare for me. but their story mode is second to none, only other one that comes close is ESO (maybe FF but like i said have not tried it) maybe some day i will play it again.
liked archage but i felt like if i didn't play 10+ hours a day and always stay logged in, i couldn't compete unless i pay to win.
LOTRO i liked it but too much like wow lol at least when i played it, it's been years so maybe it's different now?
even though i can't bring myself to play wow anymore there is a really awesome wow vanilla private server (that i won't name here) that i like and will play from time to time, not the live servers though.
Rift I was in beta for this and thought it was going to be my next mmo. I played for about a month then I lost interest.
ArcheAge I just downloaded this a couple days ago. So far I'm not impressed but I'm just in the starter area and haven't given the game a chance. I plan to play this a bit more then decide if I'll keep playing.
EVE Online I played for a month and wasn't hooked.
SWTOR
This is my favorite from the list. I love the class stories, the companions, pvp, but I hate their F2P model and don't feel like paying for a sub.
LOTRO
Decent game but it feels so dated. Still fun to play once in a while.
Runescape 3
I never tried this one, maybe I'll check it out.
ESO I was in beta and held off on playing due to so much wrong with the game at launch but I recently returned and so far I like it. Will probably stick with it long term.
FFXIV
The game feels so slow and there is too much hand-holding for my taste but its still a solid game just not for me.
WoW
Fun game but like I mentioned earlier I don't feel like paying for a sub.
GW2 I was in beta and played at launch. I had a great time but left due to burn out. Might return sometime this year.
SWTOR Played in beta's and for a year after release. Only stuck with it due to guild mates, but when they announced first expansion it became clear that the devs had no interest in improving anything I was interested in. Too easy, too linear, crap art style. This is the game that broke my MMO back. Apart from betas / trials, not played an MMO since
LOTRO Played from release, probably subscribed for 4 1/2 years over a 6 year period. Vanilla was amazing and had best combat system, classes and best raid (rift) I've seen in an MMO. Game steadily made worse over time.
Runescape 3 Not played
ESO Played in a number of beta weekends. Would have subscribed / bought but hated the combat system.
FFXIV Played beta for both 1.0 and 2.0. Enjoyed most aspects of the game and still get tempted to play, but minimal / lack of pvp plus bad gear treadmill puts me off.
WoW Free trial only, lasted 2 hours before quitting. Didn't like art style plus knowledge of endgame put me off.
GW2 Not played
Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
ArcheAge ( Ugh )
Elder Scrolls Online ( Yay! )
Guild Wars 2 ( meh )
Everquest ( still pretty fun! )
And probably some other f2p ones that I cant remember.
Out of those ESO is my favorite.
