If you are forcing people end game to PvP, its not a PvE game. May have some great PvE but to be considered to be a PvE game, you would need to give people the option to opt out of PvP. All roads in this game lead to one thing... PvP. Its not a bad thing but own what you are. Its the market they are shooting for.
but from my understanding the penality for doing PvP is extreeme and most likely not worth it.
as I said, and I will say again, there is a LOT to not like about this game there is not reason to try to bend space and time to make that point
But you ding 45 and your forced flagged PvP. There will always be hard core PvPers who dont care about the penalty. So once you are 45, at any time you can be forced to PvP, want to or not.
funny how I am a critic of this game aruging with a critic of this game.
regardless.
if pvp RARELY HAPPENS...because the plentaly is so high and as a result the VAST MAJORITY of peoples time is spent in pve then calling the game a pvp game is just being silly.
There are MUCH better ways to attack this game without looking like your obviously trying to stir up trouble
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Can you play this game from level 1 to end game as a PvE game ? Can you play it without ever engaging in PvP ? Any time a players is forced to forgo the end game as it is PvP then the game is a PvP game. The game is PvE only until level 45 without a clan.

Stiring up what trouble? There is nothing wrong with being a PvP game. I LOVE PVP. Trust me, you ask any hard for pure PvEer how they feel about being forced flagged for PvP and they will all say the same thing. No thanks!!!! That alone makes its a PvP game. BDO does not care about the pure PvEer at all!

Maybe there is a misunderstanding here on how PvP works in this game.
At 45 you are ENABLED to do PvP however you are NOT flagged up for PvP. There is a action required usually hot key or on the hot bar to turn on and off the flag which says I can and will war.
Now if you flag up then you can freely kill anyone flagged up without ever having to experience a loss of equipment or experience.
HOWEVER, If you are not flagged up and someone attacks you the karma rules are applied to both attacker and the one attacked.

wanting to call a game a PvP game when pvp represents about 0.5% of game play is sitring up trouble

When you entire end game is about PvP its not 0.5%. You only level once (unless you make an alt) So once you reach cap this game has little to do but PvP. Thats 95% of the content is PvP.

well some think it is 0.5% of the game since the cap to them is 50 and not 55.99 at which it is almost impossible to level anymore until the update which will take it to 60 and the next to 65 and next to 70 and on to 100.

I think more importantly since it's the OP who asked let him make up his mind. Pointless for us to argue semantics and percentages isn't it. if he feels the end game is important and if that is what he wishes to focus on then its his decision whether the PvP end game is to his liking.
For some people they may feel that the 45 levels of PvE is what they want to spend time on and perhaps play less after that making the games essentially PvE for them.

For what? You keep repeating that like it means something. Made me laugh and think of this clip. OF GAME PLAY. Well to you I say GOOD DAY!!!

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
maybe I am completely wrong but the impression I have is that actually doing the physical action of pvp in this game is rare.
which to me is a design choice in of itself I think is a bad one unless there is more context I need. however given the design choice itself I think its fairly juvenile to call said system a pvp game
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Explain this please. You confuse me here.
1. my impression of this game is that the physical action of pvp in this game is rare. am I incorrect? 2. if that is the case i find that to be a faulty design choice in of itself unless there is some other aspect to it that I am not aware of that makes it make sense. 3. If my understanding is correct and that the phyiscal action of pvp is extreemely rare it would be silly calling it a pvp game. I would be like calling a basketball game a chilli cookoff because they sell chilli in the foot court of the stadium

Well yes there is a thing called resource control that guilds claim nodes and cities and war over them.
Not just for fun but for control of the market in areas to make prices fluctuate.
Best resources are kind of high end like level 55+ mobs so you kind of have to somewhat geared to get them and the stones you need for gear are kind of going to be difficult to obtain at level under 50 since you have to get the mobs also.
Physical action is to keep people out of your controlled territory so they can't set up shop so to speak. The wars are for prizes is just kind of filler like GvG and OW soloist PvP.
The meat of the game is control.
Now suppose as this one video was posted by Wiz shows the guy killing a mob in this dungeon, the mobs drop stones to enhance your equipment and probably often. It looks great and won't matter if instanced or not if the big guild controls the entrance.
Kind of make it a bit more difficult to get in there?
Now suppose there are several dungeons in this high argo, hard hitting mobs that need to be controlled. War for entrances is going to be another reason to keep the competition away.
of course this is pure speculation as to why big name PvP guilds show up in a PvE game
