I really enjoy the graphics of LOTRO, I’m a sucker for that renaissance-ish theme, though. What I couldn’t get past was the choppiness or random freezes while playing. I’m on a high-end laptop and tried different settings but it still persisted.
Ive has similar issues running EQ2.. it just runs very poorly compared to WoW or the modern day MMOs.
I wish they played more smoothly as I love how deep and engaging they are. I come from MUDs and the EQ1 days so the graphics aren’t a huge problem if it means great gameplay.
I bought all the expansions up to Mordor for ridiculously cheap as they are on sale today. I think I spent like $18 US. For ALL the expansions. I also got 1000 Points included with the purchase of one of the expansions, so now I'm over 5000. I will definitely look into picking up Mordor with those should I continue to level to that point.

Unfortunately, a lack of other people to play with cannot.

The missing expansions for $3 and $6 are much better deal than to purchase them in-game, so I'd say don't spend any Points onto the previous expansions...
Mordor on the other hand is much better for Points, compared to its overpriced $40 price tag
