i like the leveling. im killing mobs in ~6 secs and im taking good enough dmg. i hate the old leveling where u can get to max lvl in 2 days... thats not how a mmorpg works
The counter argument to that is, most of this game starts when you max level so whats the point in making it harder so far into the games release?
Well my opinion is that your first character should take a long time to level and leveling at all stages should feel rewarding (WOW removed so many skills that this is now impossible). That's just me though and I'm clearly in the minority. But leveling in WOW feels like leveling in D3 and that's not a good thing.
The leveling pace of the last few expansions has been at least twice as fast as I think it should. I'd love to see a comparison of leveling in recent expansions versus say TBC as well as the number of quests available in each

This is subjective. If you are a Raider or PvPer the yes you are right. On the other hand, most of the game ends at max level for people like me who mostly focuses on leveling characters to cover the story of the game from the point of view of both factions, and background lore of the various races.
I think the entire experience from lvl 1 to max should always be challenging. Otherwise they should give Raiders and PvPers max level characters from the start while everyone else plays the game normally from the beginning.
Being a 14 year old game doesn't exclude it from making changes to the core game. They can continue experimenting with different things for as long as the game is alive.
At this stage, slowing the process AND removing options is just outright stupidity. Powerleveling, speed running, boosting, whatever you want it should always be viable options at this point.
After 14 years they outright remove powerleveling which is my biggest issue. It is such a stupid move.
I think the stupid move was allowing it to exist in the first place. It's like when Ghostdoofus decided professions should give characters stat bonuses. Sure, removing that "feature" felt like ripping a band aid off for a lot of people, but fixing it is better than leaving a bad design in place.
I wonder how many more expansion it'll take before some genius at Blizzard thinks to themselves "you know, maybe insanely inflating the gold economy by putting a gold faucet on a mobile app wasn't such a good idea" and finally shitcans those moronic Mission Tables.
Wait, you could send followers on missions through your phone? Holy shit.

This might make sense in a game where you can't just pay money to boost your level to 100. As soon as you can pay to level boost, levelling speed is now irrelevant.

Character boost costs $60, not everyone is willing to pony up that much money every time they want to bypass leveling. And the people who do boost their characters clearly don't care about the leveling process at all. The rest of the playerbase who just want to play normally shouldn't be affected by that.
@calibek I don't disagree with you. My only "issue" -- and it's not even really that afaic because I've only got 1 sub-level 110 character -- is that it's a huge, glaring bug that needs to be fixed. I know Hazzikostas said they don't want to roll out a blanket fix, but that they will. Let's hope it's soon. I want to get my baby Nightborne Monk to Pandaria. I love that expansion.
I just cannot comprehend why you and others are playing the game then.
I mean, I'm playing my 4th alt in FO 4 and at almost point have I really thought....man, sure can't wait to get my next level.
The bigger question is, do I save Far Harbor or destroy it?
This I too have really discovered FO4. I literally just blew a whole in the ground where The Institute used to be and now I am not sure if I should have waited a bit longer to get more done with the other factions. since neither the Brotherhood nor the Railroad will talk to me.......though it is hilarious when you use the Minutemen to destroy The Institute and then board the Prydwen and hear them bitch about how the MM stole their glory.
Maybe I should go back to an earlier save and replay it with different choices. Or maybe it's time to retire Heather Casdin, go to the Combat Zone to pick up Cait and head out to Nukaworld.
I think I am level 34 or something like that.....don't really care. It matters little.
But this is the point of an RPG. Enjoy the journey because when you get there, it means the ride is over.
Way back in Vanilla and early TBC, (2.3 was when they bumped leveling XP) I used to love using crafting in WoW. One of my early characters was my Hunter. I chose LW and Skinning. I used them to level. I kept my crafting at the point where I always had the best gear because I could craft gear I couldn't quite equip yet. Spending time waiting in Booty Bay to get the recopies for LW because they were worth it.
The rapid leveling made all that worthless. Instant gratification actually removes the rewards.
