Looking at Steam, recent reviews seem to be negative, with complaints about Lag and low frame rates. Also, the game description says it requires 55 gig of storage space. Not sure what the actual file download size is, but it looks like it would take a very long time to download on my slow internet connection. Most likely not trying it after all....oh well.

So... I was put off this with all the whining and negativity around it. But keen to make up my own mind... Spent a couple of hours on it earlier and actually dare I even say it...enjoyed it....

Friendly, helpful and positive people in the chat... The game doesn't run like dogshit like most would have you believe... things may have improved since EA, I'm running an i5 7600 with GTX 1070.

Happily running at Max Settings mostly 60fps vsynced with some minor hitching here and there... Actually first time in a long time I've enjoyed an MMO.... Im getting some old school Lineage 2 vibes in a more modern shell...

I'm looking forward to putting a bit more time into it...

Download is just a bit under 20GB... Showing at 40.7Gb in my steam directory.

That lifetime premium for all that spent money for the collectors edition... Well that was nice of them to give out... Even in that life span is like 2 months..

Well, I am happy that this game made you come out of a 3 year posting hiatus to leave a comment.

Lifetime premium sub? So how long is that for this game? 1 year?

Wow the combat is really bad. All those chain attacks are just stupid as heck. The UI is a ripoff of Echo of Souls and the quest complete sound is a ripoff of Blade and Soul.  I couldn't get past the first half hour and uninstalled it. I can't believe people paid money for that game.

I wonder if some people don't realize the combat being too difficult or just not to their liking doesn't equal the word "sucks."

Precision in communication can be so important.

Did they ever give "action combat" to each class yet?
  • WizardryWizardry Member LegendaryPosts: 19,332
    FREE...NO such thing.

To me the phrase free to play means ....we can't sell enough copies so we need to bait players in and hope to hook them into spending some money.

Want a FREE car,no problem, want a key to start it,that'll cost you 40k but hey you don't NEED that key,you can still just sit in the car and think about how cool you look sitting in it.Come to think of it,yo udon't NEED a paint job for the car to run,but we will sell you a paint job for 40k.

Hey, it's free....might as well give it a whirl.  Nothing to lose except a little time.

    And disk space

Don't know about anyone else, but i don't regard my time as being without value and i certainly don't have so much free time that i am willing to waste it on games of dubious value, nor do i have an infinite amount of disk space on my PC also bearing in mind that just downloading the thing would have a certain amount of impact on other activities that require bandwidth, like online gaming, or watching a video on paint drying which would be preferential ;)

I loaded into the first "town" area and dropped to like 0 fps, uninstalled right after. I can only imagine it gets worse.

    Lol No!

Bless Steam is still missing tons of content from the jpn/korean version, and missing classes like Mystic and Warlock.

The combat is their biggest downside IMO. It is designed to work perfectly on a gamepad yet the game doesn't support gamepads. And here is the kicker, one melee class can only be played with an action combat reticle but another melee class can only be played as a traditional tab target... and yet another melee class can swap between both options?

I think they tried too hard to be different but didn't know what to do.

I stuck with mages because they feel more traditional and less aggravating.

That goes for all of Bless to be honest.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Thats weird, I had 25 FPS there on my 4,5 year old laptop with medium to high settings. I think it runs pretty great although it does suffer from frame rate dips when transitioning between areas.

Excellent precision, good combat is very important to MMORPGs, problematic if they got it all wrong.

Regarding the melee classes, while there are differences, does the targeting by by reticle vs tab targeting vs being able to do both give any class a significant advantage or handicap which can't be overcome?

Being different isn't necessarily bad unless of course a person is trying to master all three classes at the same time, then it would be confusing.

As for the gamepad concerns, being a member of the PC master race I can't really relate other than I agree games designed for gamepads generally frustrate me when translated to a keyboard and mouse. (NMS being my current frustration.)

this is not one of those games you should consider "worth trying" just because it became free, it's an utter pile of crap that is unfinished, neowiz has no idea how to develop games. there is no reason to waste your time when you got so many better choices.

Worth the try for those who are not bothered with low fps and have wooden pc cause it won't matter either way. But you better off with other games and they are many. Now that it's f2p it will focus on p2w just like Archeage. At least that game runs better than Bless and it's much more fun, still hate both.
