    Oh boy!

Another Survival style game with some MMO elements thrown in!

I loved Conan Exiles...but just like all Survival style game....if you don't play 22 Hours a day, you may as well not play.

Good let them test it. So AGS can optimize it for launch.

But it's no longer really a survival game from what I understand, they scrapped that approach.  Like hardcore pvp.

A very solid game despite being in Alpha/Closed Beta Stage. They still have 9 months left to really make this game shine. Heck, they can delay it a bit further if that's what it takes to make it even better.

Having said that, I would really like to see a PvP Full Loot Server, where factions fights to each-other. Much like it was in the beginning. It will be a mess, but a beautiful fucked up mess! :)

Thank god they didn't release the game back in May.
    It would've been a disaster.

Though i pre-ordered it back in March 2020, i wouldn't mind playing it next March.

It got me hooked the day when i was off work, lost the whole day so the game cant be that bad, was pleasantly surprised.

Had far worst first impressions when trying a new title, will be interesting too see what they add to the game with the current delay and see how / what the end game develops into.

I am fairly easy to please in MMOs but the combat is so boring to me. 3 abilities only for each weapon and every weapon shares the same gcd cooldown isnt fun to me. I dont like a million buttons but a staff ability sharing the same cooldown as a hammer ability that is on a different hotbar just doesnt make sense to me and just not fun to me.

But i am happy for the people that are enjoying the game and hope it succeeds for the health of the genre and hopefully getting more developers interested again in making mmorpgs.

Getting hooked in an MMO is the only way playing it.
And since there aren't many MMOs out there, New World had 100% chance to get
    stormed.
However like all MMOs, time is their worst enemy and i ain't seeing NW standing out that test.
I wish i'm wrong since succeeding MMOs bring attention to the genre.

Its gonna be 50k players who when they finish leveling will wonder what they should do next. No content once you get max level.

If a decent % of then make it to max level by the end of the testing (which seems very likely)...

    1) something is off with the leveling process (not that I'm a huge fan of leveling grinds in games that have no story or unique content)

    2) It's 2020, AAA veteran developers should have an endgame for max level (especially with point #1)

    3) Amazon needs to reassure preorders/ reviewers what they'll be adding, but I'm doubtful they have enough time to massively add new content and test it before next May.  Especially given all there direction changes (e.g. what if what they add is "meh", back to the drawing board again?).

You couldn't be more wrong. There is no survival, shallow and simple as games on mobile and end game can be done after 2 days from the fresh start. 26 hours of game playtime to be specific. Personal experience.

Im not quite sure what you're saying.

Are you saying it has no survival aspects anymore and is more a true MMO now Like WoW, FF14, GW2...etc?

If that's true, I wish they would release some gameplay showing that. Im sure it would peak much more interest.

As of now, everything we've been shown has been basically a survival game with a few mmo features like leveling thrown in.

well, they basically scrapped everything they planned. guess they noticed pvp is a niche, suck there is nothing where they could have researched in the first place ^^

I am realy liking the game so far, even combat and PVE, maybe because I am playing it as a sandbox and I generally don't care much for quests in MMOs, outside of ESO

The UI is well designed and customizable, it has housing, exploration is rewarding enough, gathering is well done and integrates in the whole war economy, crafting is interesting (you can try to improve the quality of the items) and you can level by just doing the missions on the town job board that ask for x amount of resources or refined items (they give you xp and money)

actually, doing those jobs improves the various infrastructures in the settlement, so it benefits you even more

I hope they spend well the next months without turning it into too much of a theme park

It's a MMO, I'd say a mix of ESO,GW2 with its own sauce, check some youtube or twitch, loads of strreamers are playing it

The little i watched didn't look fun at all.
For me ,i can't stand somersaults, that is an auto delete of game.
The npc's have terrible AI,dude does a somersault and loses them. Then he is opening a chest and the skeles seem like they don't know how to climb up step...sigh.

A huge blemish on moving around is the markers that keep popping up,that would drive me nuts.bullrush ..bullrush bullrush over and over ...grrr.

There shouldn't be ANY markers in the world,it should appear  like a realistic world.

combat, well i didn't see enough ,all i saw was whack whack whack 4x and dead, nothing more than that.
Typically what i see is how shallow gamer's have become, the EXACT same game play as every single game now, they are running around looking for loot. ANCIENT chest !!!! YAY,ummm how did it even get there?Someone just walks around the game world and drops down ancient chests?

So yeah very little thought or plausible realism was put into this,it looks like a sloppy design like some Indie dev made it.It doesn't really matter, they already win, they basically released it anyhow with pre orders, this way they have the excuse it is not ready yet ..lol.Well you shouldn't be taking money f the game isn't ready.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I mean the game is literally all over the internet this days, including on Twitch, so go check it out.

How you see NW basically a survival game, is a wonder for me! Because I don't see this shit!

The game imo is far from MMORPG's like ESO and GW2. It lacks A LOT in the RP and the questing department.
It feels like a onedimensional MMO where it's all about PVP. An upgraded battleground with crafting and some questing. Not that I had a taste of the pvp but if that's not it then I don't see the point. Cause levling from 1 to 20 I really couldn't feel what the game is all about. You're stuck with repeatable quests from start. I probably should at least get to level cap before making judgement but that's how it feels right now.

But whatever, even if I'm right and it's lacking on many things, that doesn't mean it has to be this way forever. The world is big enough to add many things. Crafting is already there. They could add more direction and quests if they choose to.  It feels a bit sandboxy right now but that's just because it's lacking the obvious typical MMORPG things. I don't think it's trying to be a sandbox. Maybe it is. It definately could be one be one.

As far as I know, the main story quests are not in the game as we speak, so that should change it a lot when they will add it.

I will never be able to play a game that restricts your movement while the skill is finishing, i wish em well tho they spent alot of money on creating a game that is really a niche game wich is never a good idea. Minecraft was sold for 2 BILION dollars, i dont understand why developers allways fall for the same garbage trap, lets make UNIQUE (some idea that is not tested) game with GODLY (doesnt run on 95% of computers) graphics, when truth is people dont care for those things, people care about having "smooth fun".
