I just recently reactivated my jumpgate account. What a great game , if you enjoy a space flight sim , great physics model and a rich economy , then definitly give it a shot. The graphics are a bit dated , but definatly one of the best of the space mmos out there.

never heard of it. yet i dont know if that is good or bad
It's an ok game. Graphics are pretty dated but not too bad. Space is, as in all current space games, just a variety of wall papers as background which you fly around in front of. The NPC graphics are ***horrid*** but the ship graphics for player ships are pretty good.
It's full - open PVP
Players can build their own space stations (and destroy each other's)
It's got a very well done economy system which players directly impact. Some stations won't produce goods unless players cart goods from another station to provide it with resources.
Solid game but I had a really hard time getting into it because it's VERY under populated. If the active in-game population hasn't at least tripled it probably isn't going to be much fun. When I played you were lucky to see 70 players online at peak time.
It kind of feels like EVE would if it were a Sim rather than point and click... not quite as deep though.
Oh: flight is "partial newtonian physics" so you will need to get used to SOME vectoring once you get into larger ships. Momentum can crash you into things if you're not careful.
Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

Still in: A couple Betas
Yeah, I tried Jumpgate a long, long time ago. I think it'd be funny to see some of these "hardcore" PvP players from Eve drop into this game just to see if there's any real skill among them.
Oh man... I remember playing a Beta of Jumpgate back in 2000. I saw awhile back some server consolodation for the game, but I figured NetDevil moved on to AutoAssault.
