Well after spending a day at my friends house who just got into the beta last week i can safely say this is one of the most unique games to grace the MMO world.
Simply put the game is pretty awsome the sheer amount of things i could do was amazing.
Soaring through the skys on a Dragon has to be played to believe it really is a gaming wonder.
And to the people who look at the screen shots and say ''empty'' you couldn't be more wrong the game is filled with monsters/quests things to do.
Weather system ? WOW really nice touch to the game, the season i was in was winter and the snow effects were great.
This is that type of game you spend 2-4 years playing like Ultima Online.
SOG is only a few weeks away (i personally dream of a next friday SOG release)

Really dude, I dont care what you say it doesnt make the info any more valid. If the game was in as good of a shape as you say then it would already be released. As this is not the case, ill wait for SoG.
Also, while you may not have signed an NDA, your friend did and by letting you play and you now posting here, you and he hae broken it. It wouldnt be wrong for your post to be deleted anyways.
Actually dude.. your wrong.. i haven't revealed any info on whats been released to the public.. the only thing ive said is the game is not empty.
Pushing it back? yes it needs some work but this is minor tweeks this isn't SOE here these guys want a good launch and they want a good playerbase.

heres the thing. any and everything you post about the game saying youve seen or been in beta is a total lie. since why would you risk breaking NDA and getting kicked out
now those are features of the game
-dragon riding
-weather
-crafting
but anyone can claim the beta has these working features already (wether in or witnessed)
=only thing you really dont know (since your not in beta and have not seen it play) is wether or not all these features work right and the server can hold without crashing.
but besides breaking NDA on that, you cant say because you dont know

Heres why naysayers are unhappy and dont look at the game with a ray of sunshine anymore
-its been delayed alot!
-they leave people in the dark cosntantly
-no one knows if even SOG will be ready
-no one knows if the half or even a quarter of the features they talk about will be in release or are just vapor talk
-The E3 showings (videos) were boring to alot of people.. world in them looked empty
theres more weve seen and witnessed thats bad than good.. so people are losing faith
They need to hiring a marketing intern and pay him/her $8/hour to do some real promotion for the game. Like Rubycat said, everything they've released so far has been disappointing to say the least. The only thing keeping fans going is the fact that it doesn't appear to be vaporware (due to SoG) and the features are still amazing (even only implementing half of them at release).
But the movies aren't that great - graphically, animative, functionally.
We have NO idea what features are or aren't in and what does/doesn't work.
The one thing I see as "good" is that DnL keeps pushing back their release date and it almost certainly isn't vaporware. To me, this means they want to release a quality product. Better than most of the competition I would say.

They have stated a number of times in the past weeks they are on target for a November SOG release instead of trolling and making it up as you go along READ!!!!!!!!!!! If they set a date and they missed the date they would have the whole playerbase like you moaning.. instead they choose the smart tactic and release a date when they are 100% sure its ready!!!
Delays.... THIS is a good thing i can think of one MMORPG which everyone wishes was delayed for another 6 months.... SWG the beta testers were crying the game wasn't ready but SOE wanted their money.
This company is a decent company.
And because i post about the game im not a beta tester? erm........ WHAT DO YOU know? nothing so shut that big mouth.
If they released SOG now you would be one of the first on the forums to start whining and moaning about the bugs.

There is really no point in lying about the game when it is so close to a free public release, so I think it is pretty safe to say that Mac is telling the truth. And even if he is lying, we will all find out within a few weeks.
His friend is in beta, so is it not possible he went to his friends house to play it?

I played the game a fair few months back and the game was a mess!
I dont belive they coulda improves, not with the game engine!
There was a lack of content and nothing to do. A empty world and a whole lot of nothing

Well when i played it only last week the areas i was in was pretty full of monsters.. im not lying about playing/seeing the game why bother? i don't care if you believe it or not.. but im sure as hell the people who actually like DnL want to hear things about it..
Let me just say that despite all the negative energy this game seems to generate, I agree with Maca and expect everyone will be pleasantly surprised come SoG.
The only thing that bothers me are the "rumors" i've heard of server instability, I think the dev's may be in a little over their heads with the 1 server idea.
Chalk this up to me also having a friend in beta.
only a little longer guys, hang in there.
I have seen it work well many other times. If planned correctly, a one server work is simply amazing.

LMAO. Do you really think there's one server? It's one server cluster not one server. What do you think? One dusty 486 in a corner somewhere? I'm glad I'll be competing with idiots when the game comes out.
