Helbreath - Great game, would you play it if it was free?

I'm not sure how many of you remember the game "Helbreath", but it was one of the best 2D MMOs ever to be created. It started out good, back in "Helbreath International", where players from around the world played for FREE, and the game was loads of fun with a lot of players.

Then iEnt got greedy and decided to turn it into P2P with "Helbreath USA". Now, a lot of the players stuck around at first, thinking now that it was P2P the game would advance more and the GMs would care about it...sadly that didn't happen. Events stopped occuring for the most part, and their attempt to add crusades(big battles between the two warring cities) was weak because it was really the only important update, and those only happened maybe twice a week. On top of that, the customer service got crappy, and the GMs did whatever they wanted.

Well, thats the background of the game, I encourage anyone who hasn't played it to give it a try, www.helbreathusa.com. There is a free 2 week trial with no credit card required. Its kind of empty now, but still fun to a degree.

More to the point now, I'm thinking of starting a private server, one which is run on "donations". These "donations" would allow players who donated to get special in-game items, created by me and my buddies who plan on running the server, as well as rare items already in the game. Other than that, the game will be free for everyone to play, no payment required. We also plan on adding player GMs once we can establish a community, and have many events running. Probably going to have crusdes go on every day, and of course, tweak the creature spawns, item drops, and experience gains to make it more fun. The game will be hosted on a dedicated server, as will our webpage, which will contain forums, updates, and news on happenings in the game.

So please take a look at the poll and let me know what you think, I don't want to start this up if I don't think I can bring back a lot of old players, as well as recruit some new ones. And yes, blah blah, private servers are usually illegal, let me and my friends worry about that, I just want your opinion on whether or not you would play if the server indeed did go up. I know there are a ton of private Helbreath servers out there, but I want to make one that will live up to the true meaning of the game, without 100x experience and 100x drop rate, which make the game pointless to play.
