I want to go to FFXI again but....

in Final Fantasy XI

The only thing that is keeping me away is the screwed up economy, it practically FORCES you to buy gil online, or you have to spend weeks on farming just to get this one item. But that was a long time ago, how's the economy doing now?

    The only thing keeping me down was the whole subclass system and the difficulty to find parties... and the login servers and the whole playonline thing.

    Not sure if you knew, but recently SE has brought the hammer down a bit on gill sellers. The economy is starting to come back down to earth : )

    Uh... what exactly is wrong with the subclass system? I never find difficulty finding Parties. And if ya can't find a PT there's other stuff to do. And you can solo. Regardless of what people think many classes CAN solo. I do it all the time. But I don't get your bone with the log in servers? Every game has them. Are you referring to the whole World pass thing? yeah I can agree with that to a point. But the play online isn't that bad =p

    I knew I'd get some flack for that. ;)

    What I hate about the subclass sytem: I loved my black mage IMMENSELY. I was just starting to love him more when I finally hit 20. I couldn't wait to get higher level on my black mage. I was looking forward to the grind. But then, the system forced me to restart from level 1 as a white mage. If I wanted to stay a black mage, I'd be incredibly gimped and no one would want me for parties. I hated the idea that the game mechanics and the way the community is made forced me to start over again when what I really just wanted was to play my black mage.

    What I hated about the login servers: Not only was this game (both times I played) the worst game to install/autoupdate, the second time I came back, I couldn't play for THREE days even after I installed the game. The servers were down the entire time because of an update.
