What Class Will/Would You Play?

Class Reference

I kinda want to go Ranger/Herbalist.

I think it kinds fits together with the ranger being a nature kind of class and herbalist working with plants.

What do you think you will play?

P.S. I say Ranger/Herbalist because form what I remember you pick 2 classes, a combat one and a crafting one. And you have to level both of them. Is this still true or did they change it?

    I don't think I will play...but if I would...

There are 2 mains points I check for a character to play in a MMO:

    - Group option (think of chanter/clerics/bards in old EQ)

    - Solo option (think of a scrapper in CoH)

So...if against all odds I would try Vanguard, I would prolly be the main healing class until I give their class the attention it require to figure which are good in grouping/soloing...main healer is always a safe choice.

oh an actual thread to discuss about the actual game? am i dreaming? ::::33::

alot is going to depend on what race i decide to be.....and what race i decide to be will depend on what i think looks the best. but i am shooting for a healer class, probably a bloodmage or shaman, we will see though.

if you did decide to try vanguard, i don't think there is a main healer....suposedy all healers can heal good in their own way or some are best for a certain situation, if my memory serves me right.

It also turns out that you choose a harvesting profession. I dont understand what these are exactly. But the list is on the link I gave.

From what I understand, they are different classes that affect how you gather resources by increasing the amount, whether you get byproducts, increasing the quality and whatnot. And apparently the more people that you harvest with, given the spread of Harvesting classes, the better you'll all be at harvesting.

From what I understand they are in the game already, but the Diplomacy content and system is going through overhauls to make it more fun. =)

I'm looking primarily at the Druid, but I will most likely try bloodmage, shaman, and psionist early on as well.

3 Spheres - Each sphere has it's own experience and class to choose.

    Adventureing:
    Protective Fighters
    Dread Knight

    Inquisitor

    Paladin

    Warrior

    Offensive Fighters
    Bard

    Berserker

    Monk

    Ranger

    Rogue

    Healers
    Blood Mage

    Cleric

    Disciple

    Shaman

    Arcane Casters
    Druid

    Necromancer

    Psionicist

    Sorcerer

    Crafting/Harvesting:

Crafting Professions currently planned (but not promised):

    Herbalist : Potions and infusion
Blacksmith : Metal weapons, armor, vehicular and structural components
Woodcrafter : Wooden Structures, vehicles, furniture and weapon/armor components
Stonecrafter : Jewelry, structural, furniture, focus items
Outfitter : cloth and leather armor and armor components and bags

(They are currently revamping the harvesting professions - so the info on the previously 4 mentioned harvesting professions was said by Jerrith to be inaccurrate now).

    Diplomacy:

Diplomatic classes have not been formally announced, but they are currently believed to include:

    Thug

    Bureaucrat

    Charlatan

    Priest/Clergy

Players choose their diplomacy class (along with their harvesting,
adventuring and crafting classes) at the time of character creation. As
with every sphere, there is no obligation to level diplomacy, and there
will be some scope for choosing a different class during the lower
    levels of that sphere.

All this information and more can be found from here: Silky Venom FAQ for Vanguard

    To answer the OP question:

    I'm leaning towards Cleric-Outfitter-Priest/Clergy

  • beautyisinbeautyisin Member Posts: 405
I'm now leaning towards druid or necro, make your own pet from fallen enemy's now that's something i have been waiting for in an mmo for a long time.

  • Gnome cleric for sure.

I like gnomes, and clerics in VG sounds to me exactly what i wanted them to be at EQ1 ---  can go in battle with da'mace and heal between.

Some ppl called me paladin instead cleric, cose i  was meleeing a lot with my cleric at EQ

I will most likely play my main character as a Dark Elf  ( I simply like the race in general )
That leaves out Ranger so my main choices is then either Berzerker or Bard.
I can't decide of how I will play with crafting and diplomacy yet though.

But I will make several characters before my main to really decide what race/class I want to play as.

    Explorer 93%
    Achiever 46%
    Socializer 33%
    Killer 26%

I'd have played the same as you. Ranger/outdoorsman/Herbalist.

Although VG:SOG now falls under my SOE boycott, so I won't be playing any classes :(

Ranger/Herbalist (I always tend to like doing Alchemy).

Raise your right hand and repeat after me:

    "I (state your name)....

    Your name, dammit!

"I, DarkSinisterMysteriousEvilKiller, do solemnly swear NOT to take part in the raging I-Hate-SOE debate until such time as I 1) play the VG beta or 2) purchase and play the game at retail release, AFTER which time I may verbally trash the game, it's developers, Sigil, SOE, and everybody who even mentions the word "Vanguard."  So help me God."
