This was the 1st post i made using my 2nd account in 12-09-2004: ( i cant remember my forum name on my 1st acocunt because i played the game so much i had like maybe 20 posts total ...)

was about the upcomming x-mas gift ( yay i got a wookiee ball instead of a painting !)

Please dont be anything related to Jedi, ( why be one anyway your TK can solo almost everything there is now ...why waste time on FS crud when a few hours at squills fixes you up better?) some of us dont and wont ever do jedi crud. Man stop handing everything to us players ... a few more patches like the last couple we might as well be playing super mario skywalker world.

Most likely will be something useless having to do with JTL since thats the DEV FOTM. Expect x-mas lights for ships or some such trash.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

(My second post as the first one was just some GAT nonsense.)

I was thinking about placing a house to use for multiple players'
vendors. I would allow anyone who asked onto the admin list so they
could put one in. The idea is to get more vendors together for better
traffic and a better shopping experience by not having to go place to
    place.

If I went ahead and did that, can anyone think of a problem that would
arise from lots of admins that may or may not trust each other right
off the bat? (There'd be no decorations, only vendors) Also, would
anyone be interested in something like this in the first place?

I went on to set up a shop like that and did very well over the next years. It was profitable but also a lot of fun. (Of course the galactic vendor search came and did away with it's purpose. Oh well, shopping was easier which alwasy equals better so who cares, right?)

My first post wasn't much to look at. Just some lines about how I spent a fortune upgrading my PC just so I could play SWG without so much lag. But while going through my list, I came across some old posts in a thread that a guy on the Corbantis boards had started. It was called "If the CU happened in the movies".  This was my favorite thread out of all the threads I read on the SWG boards. I actually had to leave the room at work several times because I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. Anyway, I'm pasting some of the ones I posted there here. Keep in mind, these were quotes for the CU. The NGE was still months away yet, but it's funny how many of the quotes still applied to the NGE. Enjoy.

"The combat upgrade was a really wonderful idea. What an incredible *#&$ up you've discovered."  Han Solo

C3PO, "Don't blame me. I didn't ask you to redo the entire game. I just
merely commented that the current system needed a bit of tweaking."
    Artoo, "bleep...bleep...chirp."   C3PO, "But it's an MMO. It's always
going to need tweaking! How we're going to make up for the all the
cancelled accounts, I really don't know."   Artoo, "phhtttt, tweet."
    C3PO, "Oh, f*&k off!"

Obi Wan: "You were right about one thing, the negotiations were short."

Obi Wan: "Your game was seduced by company executives and devs. It
ceased to be Star Wars Galaxies and became Star Wars Everquest. When
that happened, the good game that was SWG was destroyed."

Obi Wan: "That nerf should be the last one."

Yoda: "No, there is another. And another, and another, and another..."

C3PO: "I'm afraid the devs at SOE have gone and done something rather rash."

Han: "This CU is not going to work."

Luke: "Why didn't you say so before?"

Han: "I did say so before, but all my posts were deleted."

Qui Gon: "Do you hear that? That is the sound of 1,000 CSR's heading this way."

Obi Wan: "If they catch you protesting the CU, they will ban you,
grind your characters into dust and blast your accounts into oblivion."

Vader: "The force is with you young Skywalker, but you are not a jedi yet."

Luke: "No sh!t, Sherlock! Have you seen the xp requirements lately?
I've spent all this time on Dagobah trying to grind FS, but there's no
one there to group with except this green wrinkled little muppet. But
he never wanted to group with me, so I had to do everything myself, but
there everything is too high level. And why the hell did my lightsaber
do this cool stuff a week ago, but doesn't do it now. And another
    thing..."

Vader: "I shouldn't have logged on tonight."

Count Dooku: "It is clear we are even level. So let's duel."

Yoda: "You're ass I will kick."

Vader: "His nerf bat, my master."

Emperor: "Ah yes. A SOE dev's weapon. By now you must know that
SWG can never be turned back to anything worth playing. So why the hell
    are you still here?"

Luke: "Because SOE hid my cancel account button and I haven't found it yet."

Admiral Piatt: "My Lord, our staff has seen the negative ratings on the polls and we cannot risk..."

Vader: "The players do not concern me, Admiral. I want that CU, and not happy players."

Obi Wan: "I think we better get indoors. The sandpeople were
easily startled, but they'll soon be back with three groups of eight
and each will have a new leader that increases the group to level 160."

    (Two Hours Later)

Count Dooku: "Damn, this duel is taking a long time. We haven't scratched each other."

Yoda: "Nerfed our sabres are. Sucks this does."

Obi Wan: "There was nothing you could have done had you been
there, Luke. You would have been banned too and the Bria server would
still have crashed and the CU still come on the next day."

Obi Wan: "I felt a great disturbance in the force. It's as if a
million voices cried out in protest, but were then suddenly silenced. I
feel a terrible ban has happened."

Han: "No, I don't think the developers had players in mind when they designed her, Chewie."

    (Two more hours later)

Dooku: (Panting heavily) "There, you little green b@stard. I have you down to half health."

Yoda: (Also panting heavily) "Won you think you have? We shall see."

Han: "Why the hell you trying to take this all apart now? We've
been playing this for two years and you change it all now? Put it back
    together right now!"

C3PO: "R2 says the chances of survival are 725 to 1. Actually, R2
has been known to make mistakes, from time to time. I's probably more
    like a million to 1."

Luke: "R2, are you ok? You're lucky that critter was 20 levels
higher than you. You weren't worth enough experience to bother eating."

    (Two more hours later)

System Message: "Connection to SWG lost!"

Dooku: "Dammit, couldn't the crash have waited 10 seconds. I was about to win!"

Yoda: "Screwed you are. Sucks the CU does, but much xp I will now save."

"use ctrl + shift + h to remove the HUD. I've taken many a pretty pretty screen shot that way."

Ah, the memories of the good ol' days. SWG makes me sad to see where it has come from what it once was. I have some friends that play just for space, but I can't even bring myself to do that (and feed SOE any more money).

This was in response to someone who had a bug where an NPC was spawning in a tree. Bugs in SWG??? Who would believe it :P

If you or one of your friends has Scout you can deploy a camp where the
villager is. All rocks and trees in the camps location will disappear
allowing you to converse with the villager. This is what I did to get
    around this problem.

    _____
When Sony and Lucas set out to create the NGE, we said, “How can we do this and make it similar to WoW?” We wanted it to be all about Iconic characters like Luke, combat and locking our players into a class. So we created a system that would restrict players and make all professions the same and there would be minimal gameplay around making that change. We definitely borrowed a lot of ideas from WoW that worked and figured out how to make them fit for SWG – Julio Torres (2005)

    From the letter of  .

    Julio Torres, Producer - LucasArts

"...fast-paced, action-packed, and visually intense. In order to stay true to the Star Wars fiction as
well as to make the combat system more engaging, we have shifted the
turn-based paradigm towards a much more engaging fast-action combat
system where you control every move! After receiving feedback from
    members..."

My question is :  "What  understand  Julio or SOE
under the phrase "In order to stay true to the Star Wars fiction"  if
in the game there not existing Jedi Knights , Jedi Masters , Jedi
Council , Council Leaders anymore ?
Is your "iconic" Luke not a Jedi Knight, who received help from Jedi Master Obi Wan and Council Leader Master Yoda ?

SOE - failed you have - into exil you should go !

I'm interested in getting some decent armor, better than the cheap (and
not-so-cheap) junk on the Bazaar but not as heart-stopping pricy as 80%
Composite. Not something for PVP and monster hunting, just all-round
decent armor for midlevel hunting and missions by a casual player. I'm
thinking light on the HAM, resists in the 20's with no gaping
vulnerabilities to common attacks (like Bone and Mabari), and
affordable with bank accounts up to the mid 5 figures. Any vendors
    stocking something like this?

Here's mine in response to a guy getting pissy because players were hitting on his female toon...

    ------------------------------------------------------------

I dont think people hit on virtual girls cause they are desperate, I
think they do it because it's fun. Online is the only time when you
dont have to worry about what you actually look like IRL, whether or
not you're "popular" or in the same social index as the person you are
hitting on. It's no holds barred, raunchy, "say the stuff you wish you
could" fun.  Dont get mad at players because they hit on you and you're
a guy IRL. For all intensive purposes you are infact a girl when you
play SWG. That is how you've chosen to represent yourself, that is how
people are going to identify you sorry but it's truth. If it's that big
of a deal the only viable remedy would be to create a male character.
