Ok, I think Final Fantasy XI is a great game and have been playing for a couple of years now, but I am getting sick of the /nin for every job. If you want to level Thief, Warrior, Ranger, Monk (in certain cases) or Corsair, people pretty much expect you to sub Nin. I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing Whm/Nin, or Blm/Nin next, or how about a Smn/Nin? Sounds good, you will have the uber Utsusemi and you can dual wield.
I heard somewhere that Square might be making changes so Ninja is less "desirable". I really hope they do it soon, this is getting out of hand. I love FF XI, but the close minded nature of alot of the players make it impossible to enjoy. You "HAVE" to use a specific main/sub combo in order to be accepted by people or good luck finding a party. Example, I was leveling up War to 37 and decided to sub /drg from lvl's 20-30. It's the best sub for War at those lvls yet people still gave me shit about it because they don't know any better, they just see /drg and think, that combo sucks.
Dragoon has been the laughing stock of FF XI for years now and people still refuse to invite them to parties, even though Square made some major changes to the job (call wyvern is now 20 min. recast) it was too little too late and the reputation of "Dragoons are the sux" is still with them and will never change. Now the Puppetmaster, a brand new job released a few months ago is already dead and will never come back, Pup's are the new Dragoon and the close minded FF XI players will always remember that Pup's suck, even if FF XI makes major changes and they become really good DD's.
I know it probably isn't easy to make major changes and overhaul most of the jobs, but it would be much more fun if people were willing to experiment with job combos and not just stick to what everyone expects you to use. As for Ninja, maybe Square could move Dual Wield 2 to lvl 35, maybe they could give you Utsusemi: Ichi at 35. Please do something to discourage everyone from choosing /nin.
