I have a question.  What is a "Realistic Color"?  I mean, aren't ALL colors realistic?  I would think that simply observing a color is enough to make it realistic.  The could make trees purple, animals green, the sky red, and people blue and those would still be realistic colors.

I think he means Natural colors. As in the colors you'd find in nature.

    Siehst du mich
    Erkennst du mich
    Ganz tief in meinem Herz
ist noch ein Platz f?r dich
    Ich suche dich
    Ich sehne mich
nach dem was ich geliebt hab
    doch ich find es nicht

No he means that things are "Colored Realistically".  I am looking out my window right now and see reds, and blues, and greens, and browns, and purples.  Those are all natural, realistic colors.  So technically you could still change them all around under his terms of "Realistic Colors" and it would still be right.

Remember you will be looking at the world in 180 AD. purple dye is still made from snails during this time, least in this part of the world.

That may be true, but in referencing only landscape, flora, and fauna, there are purple plants out there, not so much with the purple animals though I suppose....

Realistic as in like real life.  We don't have a green sky in real life, therefore a green sky would not be realistic.

elitwebb, your avatar title explains all: "I am number 1, all others are number 2 or lower."

Hey Semp, do you get paid or recieve other compensation for posting about RV?

I mean.. I've been playing computer games for 10 years, and could never fanthom starting a thread with the headline " X Game features realistic colors & graphics"

Sounds like something some out of touch internet marketer dOOd would say.

You should tell your boss to change the headlines to something like:

"Dang, these screenies of landscape really generate a unique feel!"

Realistic, if you think a colorblind Mr Potatohead is "realistic"

It should be thrown with great force"

The way I interpret what the OP said is that Roma Victor uses colors as we might expect to see them in our own world.  The opposite would be to use colors artistically, in such a way that looks very nice but may not be truely authentic (like in World of Warcraft).

I am going to purchase RV tonight and check it out for the first time.  Graphics are not a concern of mine at this point, I am just looking for a realistic, challenging mmorpg that I can really sink my teeth into.

That means that the game will feature things that are "Realistically colored" or "colors will be used realistically"

Added a couple more screenshots I took.
  • herculeshercules Member UncommonPosts: 4,925

funny how the topic says realistic graphics lol.I seriously  doubt many people go around in real looking like the head is pasted to their bodies.

You need to actually play the game to know this as loads of touching here and there hides this.Yes folks the head is pasted to the bodies and you can clearly see the line!

If you want to buy RV for other reasons(can't think of many but ok) then do so.But for realistic graphics /cough

    Realistic?

Lest start with the red on the shield. It is too bright to be a cinnabar, carmine or even chochineal based (which were the "reds" of the time). Today we would call all of those colours shades of maroons, morons and/or ochres but they sure are not bright red.

  • sempiternalsempiternal Member UncommonPosts: 1,082

    You play Everquest, Erahn?

Let me put it this way, realistic as in the opposite of the rainbow-colored fantasy cartoon you play.

Semp you need to stop digging up old threads in a vain attempt to praise RV.

You are being obssessive and your attempts to deceive are futile. People know the truth, RV sucks.

Please tell me Jorev didnt just call another poster here obssessive? That is like Star Jones telling someone they have food issues.

If it is wrong...then so is every Osprey book, Military art book, and re-enactment group I have ever seen. I am no expert on peroid dyes and colorings, but every seconday source I have seen uses that exact color.

If those are "realistic" then give me unrealistic graphics. Man this game is ugly.

lol  I can assure you Semp isn't getting paid to say anything about RV.  Hell, I'm still not getting paid and I work for the company.

The colors you see in those screenshots are the same you'd see if you were looking out your window in northern Britain in the middle of winter...mostly grey (most of the team lives there, so they should know what it looks like).  There are a few screenshots floating around from when the sky cleared and things brightened up.

We should ignore sempiternal for overhyping this faulty product before and after launch.
