Newbler Question Again

I need a good sword for my level 10 warrior/ranger. I have a purple bow that I can't use. Should I try and trade it? Hope for a random drop? Any advice?

At level 10, I'd just wait for a random drop, or have the weaponsmith in Ascalon City craft one for ya (assuming you're playing Prophecies).

If you're playing Factions, then I'd just wait until you get to the harbor and trade some of your Requisitions for a new sword.

If you can find someone willing to trade straight up, then that's fine. Just don't go out and buy one from a player. There would be a high probability of getting soaked if you buy from another player early on in the game (early game cities seem to be where the cheats hang out, just waiting to take advantage of a nublet).

All in all, you're just too early on in the game to get really good drops, so I'd just hang back and wait for something that's going to be worth while. It'll come eventually.

At level 10, put attribute points (aps) into Markmanship and use the bow until you get a decent sword.

And always keep at least one longbow customized for you in your arsenal. A Warrior's job is to draw aggro, but not so much that you and the team are overwhelmed and wiped out. Warriors who don't know how to use pulling tactics are a curse to a team. A longbow is an aggro-controlling Warrior's best friend.

Keep a longbow and use it to control the amount of aggro you attract, especially where other enemy groups may be near.

Either wait for a drop...

Or look for a collector that will trade you one for "collectible drops"

Try the guildwiki, it has a list of collectors and what the need/give.

EDIT: ps...I get all my weapons (even for my 20s) from collectors, no real reason to get 'em from anywhere else, if I'm lucky sometimes I'll get a purple or gold drop that I can use. But there's NO WAY I would ever pay another player 30, 40, 60, 100k, 100k + 10 ectos, for ANYTHING! Hehe...I'm just cheap I suppose.
