What's cool in Horizons?

I'd like a little info about the game if anyone can provide it:

Is everything player created from resources that are harvested?

Are all or at least most towns player created?  Can they also be destroyed?

Are there political structures for the government of such towns, etc?

Is there management of NPCs to handle large scale harvesting so players don't have to do ALL the dirty work?

Is there open PvP?  PvP of any kind?

Is it highly focused on Levels or more Skill based?

Thanks to any who are willing to fill me in.

for the most part yes. You go out harvest come back and process. Make whatever item you need.

umm sure there are player towns. You have to build buildings on pre arranged plots. One per account. But due to population issues most are ghost towns. No they cannot be destroyed. There is also no enemy to destroy anything anyway.

    No.

No. This isn't shadowbane or was it SWG Pre NGE that allowed that ? ;)

    No never will be.

Level based system. You can multiclass unlimited however. Some say this is a benefit other say its the games bane. Personally I believe it was a mistake to allow unlimited multiclassing.

Thanks to any who are willing to fill me in.

with that all being said I urge you to wait till the new owners of the game get their crap together. They are having rampant billing issues which have resulted in legal action etc. See if there is a game left when the fallout from this all has settled down.

      Yes.

Most of the towns are player created and they can't be player destoryed but the ages have been known to come in a screw with people plots..

Nothing like that has been set up.  Its been in talks, but nothing concreate.

Is there management of NPCs to handle large scale harvesting so players don't have to do ALL the dirty work?
In the orginal specs, yes.  Currently?  No.  PC's do all the work.

Is there open PvP?  PvP of any kind?
No, again there's been talks of opening an arena in the main town (Tazoon) there is even an arena already built.  But nothing has come of it currently.

Skills.  Levels help (like duh) but the skill system is what most things are based on.

Thanks to any who are willing to fill me in.
       You're welcome.

when someone asks is the game Skills based or Level based they mean..

Is your progression measured by getting experience points that results in a linear level gain. Or do the experience points go towards actually increasing the skill level.

So if you have an axe and you swing it at monsters does your skills in axe go up ? The answer in horizons is no they do not. You skills do not increase untill you increase in level be it crafter or adventurer. So at level 1 your skill level in your skills is 10 and so on. They go up when you increase to llevel 2 etc...
